y/n walked stifly beside artem. he hadnt spoken the entire time, just silently guided her out into the parking lot.
"things have gotten more complicated than they needed to be. you need to go to your apartment and stay there with luka and jacob." Artem said.
as if on cue, a sleek black car pulled in front of Y/n, luka hopped out of the back of the car and opened the passengers door.
y/ns head was full of swirling anxiety. how was she even supposed to talk to artem now. how was she supposed to be on this case. there was no way that the other lawyer hadn't told Luke about her appearance. she wouldn't be shocked if he came after her now.
should she leave?
should she tell the others about him?
no. no families don't accept people from other families. it was best if she just played it cool, and then ran.
if she needed to she could black mail them right?
she silently got into the car, not noticing when Artem waved goodbye.
it was the first cue she gave him that something was off.
the car took off, and Y/n tried her best tot keep her cool.
she would go to the apartment, order Luka and Jacob to stay downstairs, and gather a suitcase so she could leave. there was a fire escape, which she could climb down, and then her old apartment had an emergency stash of cash. she could take it, and run.
she ran over the various trains that went in and out of the city.
now that she was known as Artems assistant, it was to dangerous for her to go to enemy territory. she couldn't go into the Yakuzas section either. when it was discovered she was missing it would be an all out search for her by the allies and Von-hagen family.
so she needed something neutral. the Americas would be a good start, if she went to the Americas, and chose a secluded place there was a chance no family would find her there.
it was a good plan.
"jacob, luka, i would like some time alone, stay in the lower level for a bit." Y/n said calmly.
Luka glanced at her.
"whats wrong?"
she waved away the question.
"nothing, im just tired and I've been around people all day. i need to recharge my social battery." she lied.
she couldn't take her phone with her either. that was probably a tracker.
she would need to message her parents though, tell them that she was okay.
but how would she manage to do that?
a burner would work just fine. it would cost a lot of money but she could make it work.
Jacob and Luka pulled into the parking lot and into the valet spot. Y/n waited calmly for LUka to open up her door, and got out. she shouldered her bag and made her way inside, keeping her pace slow and calm.
she noticed the doorman wasnt there, most likely on lunch. and the man behind the desk was sleeping, his head resting on his forearms.
she walked to the elevator, it opened and she stepped inside.
once the doors slid closed she unravelled.
her posture dropped and her breathing was quick and uneven.
"fuck fuck fuck!" she yelled.
she hit the side of the elevator wall in frustration.
"of all the fucking times!"
