the crying in the backseat dimmed to sniffling and snores.

y/n had cried herself into exhaustion. her head was nestled on vyns lap, her arms wrapped themselves around his hips like he was a living stuffed animal. she held herself close to him, sleeping off her despair.

the car ride was silent. each boy left to their own contemplation.

"we should kill him." marius finally said.

it had been on all their minds.

the moment they had heard about Luke from Y/n, they were planning his murder. they planned how to deal with the outrage of murdering a head of another family. each of them had thought of atleast a dozen painful, and creative, ways to kill the man.

but now was the first time they had spoken about it.

"can we get away with that?" Artem asked.

"if we do it properly."

vyns hands continued to run through Y/ns hair. her tear stained cheeks wrenched his heart and made him frown slightly.

if anyone was to make her cry, it would be him. he hated that someone else had done it.

"wouldnt it cause a war?"

"we have doiuble the man power."

"but half the allies."

"vyn?"

artem glanced into the mirror to look back at his colleague.

his pale hands tenderly stroked Y/ns cheek. his other hand smoothed and pet her hair. his golden eyes were filled with some oddly warm look. something Artem had never seen on the cold russians face. his lips formed a small frown, his eyebrows creased with concern whenever she would shift.

"i want him dead as much as all of you, but i dont think its possible." Vyn said.

"what other choice do we have?"

"we need to be able to destroy the case against artem, and keep Y/n out of lukes hands." Vyn said.

"do you think she would try to run to him? he has her parents." Marius said.

"we could try and get them back."

the idea was good.

it would soothe Y/n, and make her want to stay. it owuld take Lukes leverage away. but it wouldnt dissolve the case he had against Artem. that was one of the more important factors.

although they hated to admit it, the thought of letting her go crossed their minds.

it made vyns body tense, his stomach felt sick to think about letting her go. there were so many horrible things Luke would do to her. but what if he just killed her? what if he left her for dead in some gutter? he would defile her in the worst ways. he would abuse her.

vyn couldnt let that happen. this was Y/n. his y/n. no one would ever lay so much as a finger on her, unless it was Vyn himself. not while he was still breathing.

his fingertips ran over her cheek. it was warm and soft. he would never get tired of this feeling. the warmth she gave him was new and foreign. he had never felt anything liek it. and he never wanted it to go away.

but if she left, it would surely leave with her.

so no. no matter what happened, no matter who tried to take her, Vyn would never let her leave.

Artems mind was racing. he had promised to protect her. he had told her that no one would ever hurt her again. but he lied. he had lied to her and he felt horrible. how could he lie to someone like her? someone so nice to him?
