this one is gonna be a shorter one, maybe.
idk yet.
enjoy!
artem pulled the keys from his pocket and tried his best to balance the bag of grocerys on his hip.
he fumbled for a moment, almost dropping the keys, before successfully inserting them, and unlocking the door.
when he first opened it, everything seemed alright.
but there was an eery silence throughout the whole house.
something that made his stomach crawl.
he put down his keys, and set down the bag.
he knew something bad had happened before this. he knew he wouldnt like the mess that MArius and Vyn would make.
but he had never imagined it to be so bad.
he walked out of the hallway, there was a lamp shattered on the ground, smearings of blood on the hardwood, and what looked like globs of spat out blood scattered about.
the furniture had been moved, and now he could hear music coming from the kitchen.
but no Y/n.
his heart skipped a beat, and he walked to the kitchen.
"oh artem, we were wondering when youd be back!"
marius had a smile on his face, and a new pair of clothes on.
same with Vyn. the two were actually getting along.
now if that didnt mean something terrible then artem didnt know what did.
"where?" he simply asked.
color had leaked from his face.
"where what?"
vyn was cutting something up for the food they were making.
"you know damn well what! where is she?"
marius jerked his head towards the upstairs.
"her room." he said simply.
artem hesitated for a moment. he didnt head directly upstairs, first he went into the bathroom and snatched up the first aid kit. he wasnt stupid, he knew that they had done more damage than what he had anticipated.
he made sure everything he needed was in there, and took a deep breath.
she needed him now. he would help her. he would help her no matter what.
he climbed the stairs, and notices the smeering of blood on the carpet. how could they be so calm? what did they even do to her?
her door was slightly open, and he stopped outside. to listen carefully.
he could hear labored, rattling breathing from inside. soft whimpers and groans of pain.
she was alive.
she was alive thank gods!
he opened the door, and flipped on the lights.
never expecting to see her in such a state, the first aid kit fell from his hands as one clamped over his mouth to stifle a yell.
he turned away from the sight, and walked out of the room, his blood boiling.
"VYN!"
his voice boomed through the house.
"what?"
"GET YOUR ASS UP HERE NOW!" artem yelled.
his fists tightened so hard his nails drew blood. he walked back to the doorway and finally took in the sight.
her arms hung in the air limply, each wrist tied to the headboard with a different tye. her shirt and bra were cut and on the floor, her pants hung low on her hips. her eyes were barely open, her chin drooped to her chest.
her stomach was a blood mess. the sheets around her were smeared and covered in blood. there were long, deep cuts, short shallow cuts, and what looked like words sliced into her tender stomach. there were a few on her chest, and on her arm, but all of those were shallow.
"what?"
vyns voice sound right behind artem.
"the hell do you mean 'what?' i agreed to a punishment, not a FUCKING MUTILATION!"
"we told you we would fix her, i dont understand your problem." vyn said.
"fix? you think this is fixing her? she bleeding out on her bed! you didnt even adress her wounds!"
"shes alright! we knew you would be back soon anyways."
"no. no you dont just leave me to clean her up!"
"oh come on Artem stop being like this. you said you wanted to keep her safe, honestly it sounds to me like you dont care about her at all." vyn drawled.
his eyes went wide, and for a moment his mind was blank. empty.
and vyn took that as a chance to fill it himself.
"artem, listen, we worked really hard to teach her to behave, we made sure that she knows we love her. look. come here."
vyn pulled his arm and walked to the barely councious girl. he pointed at the mess in front of him.
"she did that one herself. we didnt even have to ask!" vyn said.
it was a heart, a crude one, with an A on the inside.
of course Vyn was lieing through his perfectly white teeth. she had been screaming and begging them to stop the entire time. there was no chance she had offered to slice herself up.
"she did that for you Artem, she did it so youd know how much she loves you. dont you love her? you should be happy she would do something like this for you." vyn said said.
the words echoed around in Artems head. this was wrong.
but it felt right.
this wasnt how it was supposed to go.
how was it supposed to go then?
he was supposed to protect her!
he is protecting her, she did it herslef! she did it herself so that means its alright. that means its not his fault. and if its not his fault he cant be upset. he doesnt have to be upset.
"why dont you clean her up, and we can bring you two dinner." vyn said softly.
artem wordlessly sat down, his hand reached out, and he touched the blood mark on her skin.
her eyes opened from the pain, and a soft whimper left her.
the other bruises on her skin slowly dissapeared from his skewed gaze. even the cuts seemed to be less serious the more he looked over and cleaned them up. her face grew colorful, and the light replaced itself in her eyes. she looked pretty like this.
and he had helped. he had taken care of her.
he changed her sheets and clothes, and wrapped bandages around her stomach. she hadnt talked or moved an inch during any of it. only whimpering with pain- no not pain, she wasnt in pain the cuts werent that deep! she was just excited to see him.
yeah, thats why.
no other reason.
he took this alone time as a rare opportunity. he settled beside her, and rolled her body onto his. her head was tucked into his neck. her hands on his chest. his arms wrapped around her gently and he sighed.
she wasnt fighting, she didnt seem upset.
it was peaceful.
it was right.
