Y/ns heart pounded in her chest.

the GPS on her phone chimed to let her know that she needed to turn.

she followed the street, and ran to the side of the building, and slipped into the alleyway. immediatley she was urged to redirect herself to the route.

her back flattened against the cool brick wall. her eyes were stinging with tears. she knew what she was going back to, but she couldnt risk her parents being killed.

artem, Vyn, and Marius would go to the fake location, while Y/n would be able to safely make it to luke. sure she felt bad for lieing, sure she felt guilty for betraying Jacob and Luka.

but she couldnt let her parents die to save herself. she wouldnt be able to live with herself.

she wiped the sweat from her forehead, and glanced at the map on her phone.

she was fifteen minutes from the location. she had been running for atleast 5.

but they would understand right? they would understand why she had to lie, why she had to run. atleast, she hoped they would.

it wasnt like they were innocent. Vyn had hurt her. he slammed her against that wall and choked her. in that moment he was just as bad as luke was. Artem and marius just watched with gaped mouths. so would staying with them be any different?

especially if Vyn could lie to her like that. telling her that they were in love with her in order to get her to stay. what an asshole!

her newfound annoyance feuled her pace. she ran down the street and turned.

atleast she knew luke wouldnt kill her.

hurt her? most definatley. make her want to die? obviously.

but he could never bring himself to kill her. she knew that much. he could make her feel the worst pain known to man, but he had never ever been able to bring her close to death. the few times he had done so he had panicked and stopped. she hadnt ever seen him so caring after a 'punishment.'

she took a left down the street.

if she behaved enough, grovelled and screamed enough, did everything he asked and more, she could reduce her punishment. although it would still hurt no doubt, she would still be able to make it better. she just had to keep her head down!

even though she was trying to soothe herself, it barely worked. her mind wouldnt be tricked by wishful thinking. it knew exactly what horrors lay ahead of her, and she knew that no amount of sucking up to him would fix it or make it in any way more bearable.

she was lucky if he didnt try to kill her parents.

her phone buzzed and she looked down. luke had texted her.

'are you coming?'

she slowed her sprint to a jog, and then a walk, occasionally looking ahead of herself.

'yeah, im around the corner.'

'good, ill be there shortly aswell.'

she sighed and exited out of the texts, then tucked the phone into her pocket.

(POV change)

Artem had kept the car at a steady 50mph the entire drive. his knuckles were white on the steering wheel, Vyn gave him directions, while Marius' head swiveled between streets, trying to catch a look of Y/n.

so far they had run out of luck. and they were twenty minutes from the warehouse.

the search had gone on for a good 30 minutes now. it was shocking how much ground a single girl could cover in that time.
