it had been a total of 3 years since the court date.
Y/n was living in a small town, working at a small grocery, and living in a safehouse in the woods. it was larger than what she wouldve normally been able to afford. an A frame with an open floor plan. there was a panel of glass sliding doors that lead out to her pretty backyard. she had a nice medium sized kitchen, a big living room with plenty of comfoy cushions on her couch, and a fouton to sleep on.
once every two months, detective M came up to see her.
today was that day.
she got off work early, and got some extra groceries for the night.
he would always get to her house before she would, and he was the only other person who knew the code to her alarm system.
she payed for her food, said her goodbyes, and loaded her things into her truck.
her house was about twenty minutes away from town. she had gotten food to make burgers, which was one of her favorite things to eat now. she had gotten extremely good at cooking since she never ate out, and there was no one at her house that would prepare her a meal, so there were quite a few trial and error nights in the beginning.
she had a dingy pickup truck. rust spots penetrated the rims of her wheels, which were also covered in bald spots making it hard to drive in the winter. her spark plugs always needed replacing, an her engine had been acting up lately. there was always a strange rattling from it when she drove around.
life had been good for her. and it was just getting better.
she was excited to see the detective. he always made her feel much safer. and with Artem, Marius, and Vyn across the country in a prison, she didnt hav emuch to worry about.
she pulled into her driveway, the gravel crunching under tires. when she pulled into the clearing of her home, she found the detectives car waiting for her.
a smile came onto her face, the lights were on inside, and she could see his sillhouette moving around past the curtains.
she jumped out of the car, and gathered her groceries into her arms. she clicked the locks, and stuffed the keys in her pocket, forgetting her phone.
she skipped up to her door, opening it up.
"Detective M? im here!" she announced.
there was motion from the kitchen. and it smelt a little different than usual.
did he already start dinner? she peeled off her shoes and socks, and took of her jacket, then started down the hallway.
"hey i got groceries already, but if you started cooking then-"
she got about halfway down the hall, when she stepped in something.
it was thick, slightly warm, and liquidy.
and red.
her stomach twisted, and her eyes followed the trail into the living room, to the couch, where, slumped over, the body of the detective laid, lifeless. a hatchet was stuck in his back.
the groceries fell, splashing blood up to her knees. a shreik left her and she turned to run.
"baby!"
a warm, soft hand wrapped around her wrist, pulling her into a familiar body.
"n-no. no no no no no. no no. y-your in-"
"jail? am i baby? howd i come here to see you then?" he asked.
he nuzzled into her neck, gently kissing over her old scars.
"mmmm, you smell so nice baby. ive missed soft you are, how warm your body has always felt with mine. so precious."
she was stiffer than a board. horror and fear spreading to her limbs.
"come on baby, look at me."
he tilted her chin upwards, and she met the peircing blue eyes of Artem wing. there was an unhinged smile on his face.
"i see you followed what i said huh? always so good for me arent you? took care of yourself while i was away didnt you?" he asked.
she merely blinked, which only made him coo and rub her cheeks.
"i made us dinner baby, i hope you still like noodles." he said.
he pulled her forward.
"i have so much planned, and i have a surprise!"
he was excited. to excited. he had never been like this before. he was giddy. deranged.
he patted her seat, and pulled it out. his frame had gotten bigger, more muscular. he had a scar on his cheek, and a knew tattoo on one of his hands.
"here baby, let me get your gift!"
he turned his back, and brought out a familiar, dark velvet box.
"its a bit different from last time, since i get to have you to myself now, i figured i should get you a new one." he said.
he opened the box, and set it on the table.
a collar, black leather and silver metal hoops, glinted up at her.
tears filled her eyes. despair flooding her heart.
she had escaped. she had escaped and now... now he was back.
he hugged her shoulders, kissing her neck and cheeks and sighing dreamily.
"we are gonna be together forever now bunny. youll never have to worry about getting hurt, cause im going to keep you safe from now on."
"come on now, i know you must be shocked. and i plan to make up for what i did in the past okay? thisll be... itll be a fresh start!" he said.
she gulped, tears splashing down on the table cloth.
"doesnt that sound nice baby? a fresh start with me?"
