travesty.
as Y/n folded up her clothing, and placed them in drawers, thats the only words she could find to describe what her life had turned into.
a travesty.
she had heard the phrase 'history repeats itself' but she thought it only applied to things like world wars, or corrupt politicians. not her own life. not her life with Luke.
but each time she shifted, each time she felt the searing pain of her stomach, she was reminded that history repeats itself in every mundane persons life.
her eyes were heavy from no sleep. the dark bags under them hinted even more at this. her movements were a little slower, her skin was a little paler from the lack of blood.
Artem had patched and cleaned her up. he had removed her bloody sheets, replaced them, and gave her a t-shirt to put on. he kissed her temple, murmuring that she was safe now, and left the room.
she didnt eat dinner last night.
now she was just doing what she could to take her mind off of everyhting.
but Vyns eyes still haunted her everytime she shut hers. she couldnt stop thinking about how scared he made her feel. how much pain he was able to inflict on her.
a chill ran up her spine and she set her shirt into the drawer.
it was about noon by now, she had no idea what the others were doing, or if anyone was even home. she didnt know if she was allowed out of her room, or if it was against the rules.
what was she thinking? there were no rules. no one had told her any rules.
she was already back to thinking like she had with luke. but this time it was like there were three of him. the idea of three lukes was horrifying, it made her breath hitch in her chest.
but she would get out of this. no matter what this wouldnt be what she reduced to. not again. she just needed to get money. if she could get her hands on a couple thousand dollars, then she could catch a plane to somewhere else, and she could hightail it away from these three.
she would go to the police after that, somewhere outside of their control just to be sure. and then she would go back into witness protection. she had done it before. she could do it again.
but getting cash wouldnt be easy. with Luke, he wouldnt pay attention to his expenses or how much she spent. she was able to buy expensive jewelry and then pawn it off for the money. but she knew the three were smarter than him. they wouldnt let her have a card freely. but if she could just strike a deal...
there was a knock at her door that made her jump.
"c-come in?"
the knob clicked. so she had been locked inside? and turned.
Artem walked inside, shirtless, with a tray of breakfast fo rher to eat.
"hello d- oh no, what are you doing?"
he quickly set down the tray and moved towards Y/n. she scooted away when he approached and stared up at him with a scared expression.
his heart hurt to see her act like that.
"its alright my love. i just came to give you some breakfast. you werent supposed to get up." he said.
her heart skipped in her chest. she couldnt endure another round with Vyn.
she dropped the clothes and bowed her head.
"im sorry i didnt realize that! i wont do it again im sorry im sorry i-"
