 six hours.

six hours is how long it took for Y/n to shop for a new wardrobe and groceries.

she was exhausted. normally, six hours on her feet was a light shift at the cafe. but she had been changing in and out of clothes, which was surprisingly more tiring than you'd think.

the bulk of the time was spent clothes shopping.

Luka would stand outside the women fitting room, claiming she was some type of royal who needed extra protection, and waited for her. and the stores she got to go to?

extremely luxurious.

she had expected Luka to take her to target, maybe even TJ Maxx for some fancier clothes.

but he said that Artem had already chosen the storesfor her to shop at.

when he walked her inside, she thought she was going to die. the price of one shirt was just half of her paycheck.

and a pair of jeans?

forget about it.

she didn't want to shop here. sure, she wasn't paying for it. and yeah, artem had kinda forced her into this situation. but she didn't want to spend all of his money.

that wouldn't be good for anyone.

however Artem must've already thought of this. and he made recquirements.

at least 2 formal dresses, he told y/n to use homecoming as the formal event inspiration.

4 cocktail dresses, 3 party dresses and 5 casual ones. 13 shirts, 6 shorts, 5 skirts, 12 pairs of some type of long pants (including formal ones) and six pairs of shoes.

she needed at least one pair of heels to match her formal attire, and a pair of flats or heels for everyday work/ party, then a pair of tennis shoes.

it was a lot. it was way more than Y/n even had at her house.

but she was able to shop for anything, in any color, in any style.

which was great cause shed never gotten to do that before.

shopping took up about 4 hours. the rest was for groceries.

now y/n was sitting on her couch, having put away and organized her groceries with Luka and Jacob.

"you know you have like, three hours to get ready?" Jacob asked.

he leaned over the couch and peered down at me. Y/n had expected them to be hardened criminals, mean and silent.

but they were both really nice.

y/n peeled open her eyes and stared into Jacobs brown ones. he held a small smile on his face, almost like he was enjoying her exhaustion.

"i will make you go stand in the bathroom." Y/n threatened.

he faked being hurt and flopped onto the other side of the couch. Y/ns body moved with the cushions.

"i just want a nap, just a small one!" y/n groaned.

she stuffed her face into a pillow and sighed. it was so comfortable, so soft. if she could just close her eyes.

her phone rang loud and jarring into the silent air.

"damn it!"

y/n sat up fully and pulled out her phone.

artem was calling.

"hello?" she growled.

"h- whats wrong?" Artem asked.

"im tired, what do you want." she demanded.
