Sky Above My Head

Iʼm on a Freaking Mountain (again)

Gloomy day, but something suddenly gotten to me. Something snapped and I just find myself driving on this certain mountain in Region V. And no! Itʼs not the Mayon Volcano, stop. The road was rough, I wasnʼt able to go that deeper because my Sunflower couldnʼt take it. The ideal car for this is a four by four, but I still love my van. But again, I suggest you to use a four by four if youʼre planning to take a challenging route.

I am currently parked in the middle of nowhere. Itʼs near a cliff, and the view is just beyond amazing. The sun is already setting so the horizon is slowly changing in itʼs beautiful colors.

Let me just start with what I have to endure just to reach this paradise.

2 in the afternoon, just after I bonded with a few locals who generously offered me their local foods, I decided to go up the mountain where tourists doesnʼt really go often. Itʼs the kind of place where I am really eager to visit. Itʼs nice to meet new people, but it is also nice to sink in solitude.

The perfect yellow color of my van right now is painted with mud, but I donʼt mind.

My only guide is the google maps (please donʼt give me false directions). Well I guess I will still be able to go down tomorrow. Iʼve climbed a few mountains with Sunflower for the past months of my van life, but this one really challenged me to the core. The road is too narrow and I was almost driving on the edge of the cliff. I was afraid for a moment because one wrong maneuver of the van and I will go flying down. Iʼm not trying to discourage anyone who will try to come in this place, Iʼm just being honest with the struggles that you have to encounter along the way.

I still did it though. Although I canʼt risk anymore to go farther, I still consider this as another achievement. If I can, Iʼm sure you can also do it (if you really want it).

There is no signal here, so I will be succumbing in a great silence tonight. I mentioned before that I am afraid of the dark, so what am I exactly doing here? Well, I also mentioned that this journey has a goal of conquering my own fears. So here it is, this is the first time that I will be staying overnight in the middle of a mountain. Iʼm not gonna lie, I am starting to get paranoid here. I can hear the natural sound of the nature, and I have mixed emotions for this. Cross fingers that no wild animal will wonder around my van once the darkness rained around us.

Letʼs talk about food. My canister stove and cute kitchen wares are so used these days. Tonight, I decided to make a simple omelette for my dinner. With the tomatoes and spinach as fillings, it already made my stomach full. Iʼm not really a big cook (I have already mentioned this with my past blogs) but remember that with simple recipes, youʼre already filling a portion of your stomach.

Sky Above My Head

SUNFLOWER BROKE DOWN (again t_t) .

Luck isnʼt with me right now. Just an hour ago, my van decided not to continue with our journey for today. I wasnʼt exactly driving in the middle of nowhere, but I am still surrounded with greeneries.
