Chapter 9

Melissa's POV : for the past few days I've been planning Alanis's surprise party. It's tomorrow. I feel bad for her. She can't go to school till Thursday then has to be home for a month after the surgery. This will be her first time seeing all of her friends since being in the hospital she hasn't been able to go anywhere. I am wrapping gifts from mom and dad to her for them. I want this to be special for her. Even Shay is flying out with Avia, Gavin, and Emmi. The plan is for mom, dad, and Lindsey (her BFF) to take her out for ice cream. While they do that I'll be home gathering all the guests and quickly decorating. •next day•
Alanis's POV: I wake up late. It's 11:30 am. Opps. I straighten my hair, wear my jean shorts, my Bethany Mota tee that say " keep on keeping on " and vans . I keep my glasses on for a change. I check Instagram and twitter and I have millions of birthday wishes. I respond to a couple then tweet, "@ Alanistrippy: Thanks for all the birthday wishes. It means so much! I love you guys!❤️" I smell pizza and I go to the kitchen and mom and dad have some at the table with a note saying happy birthday and lemonade next to it. My dad gets off the couch and starts vlogging. "I see the birthday girl woke up." He says as he kisses my forehead in the vlog. "Thanks dad I love you." Melanie walks in and gets herself a slice. "Happy birthday Al" Melissa tells me as she hugs me. She instagrams a picture of me smiling, and holding Marley and captions it "happy birthday to my baby niece." I finish up my pizza and lemonade. Mom comes in and wishes me a happy birthday. "Wanna go get some ice cream? Aunt Mel can't come because she has work to do. But we can pick up lindsey," mom questions. I agree to go. My mom drives dad I and we pick up Lindsey. We arrive at the ice cream place. I get strawberry fro yo w/ boba, strawberries, and pineapples. Dad got chocolate and sprinkles. Mom got coffee flavored icecream. Lindsey got the same as me. Dad vlogs our fro yo.
Melissa's POV: Everyone has arrived at the house. Even shay and the three kids. We quickly decorate the place. I get a text from my brother saying that they're on their way.
