"Miss Alex." The man called with a bright smile.

Wanting to leave, Alex immediately looked at the man who seeks her attention. And to her surprise it was someone she'd been wanting to meet.

"If I may ask the lady for a dance." He politely asked for what most men had been wanting to do tonight. Dance with Alex and try to get to her good side.

"My my, Lord Austin. I've been waiting for you." She answered, standing up and walking with him to the dance floor. It was an unexpected answer. It surprised everyone.

Waiting for him?

Magkakilala ba sila? Are they friends? Or is Lord Austin related to her?

Sa mga kakaunting nakapanoodsa nangyari, alam nilang unang ito pa lang ang pangalawang pagkikita ng dalawa. And the last time they met, she killed him in the game.

Gossip about their first meeting immediately circulated in the crowd, reaching the ears of one certain bird who smiled at the interaction he was seeing.

Alex was dancing with Austin who somehow had the ability to make her laugh.

She didn't even bother covering her face or mouth while laughing. You could see her laughing while Austin was speaking.

Somehow, it angered one man. Umalis ito at hindi pinansin ang babaeng hinugot na ang lahat ng tapang para lang alukin ng sayaw ang lalaki.

Nahihiyang umalis ang dalaga habang ang lalaki ay nagtungo sa ikalawang palapag ng malawak na espasiyo. Hindi ganoon kalawak sa itaas ngunit walang masiyadong tao roon.

Ang banda lang naman ang nanatili roon habang ang mga maharlika at mga guro ay sa kabilang kuwarto pa ang kasiyahan.

He watched as Alex danced with yet another man, and then another, and another. She was smiling at all of them. A smile as dazzling as the sun.

She had never smiled like that at him.

Alex continued to dance until her feet hurt. She was making an excuse to decline the guys who will still be asking for a dance.

Kahit si Austin ay napapagod na rin sa kakanood sa dalaga.

No one really had the guts to ask her for a dance until he asked her kaya pakiramdam nito ay kasalanan niya kung bakit napakaraming nag-aalok sa kaniya ng sayaw.

Bilang siya ang kumuha rito, siya rin ang naghatid pabalik sa lamesa ng dalaga.

"Thank you very much." Alex thanked the man who only felt indebted to her.

"Please, it's only a simple gesture. I should be the one thanking you for the time you've given me."

"I was actually just trying my magic on someone. If anything, it should have been hate you've given me since I used you for my personal gains." Bowing her head slightly, apologizing, she stopped near their table.

"But it has resulted to my benefit. All is well when ends are at both's best interest." He said, honestly.

It made Alex smile.

"I shall take my leave."

"Well, see you around."

They parted, Austin to his group, Alex to their table.

She sat on her chair without a word to the ones left at their table.

With her long gown, she was able to effortlessly cover her feet. Tinanggal niya ang sapatos and felt relaxed after countless times of dancing. Even her arms and shoulders are sore.
