Dad

( just imagine you just had your first child and Tom is the dad he's getting to hold them for the first time) .
Tom: I stood pacing back and forth biting my nails I was very nervous and Doug had tried numerous times to calm me down but he wasn't helping Doug: look Tom it's gonna be fine Mia will be fine Tom: I know I'm just nervous I've never been a dad before and ya know I hope I'm not a bad one Doug: you're not gonna be a bad father I think you'll be a great father Tom: I stop pacing and look him smiling thanks Doug Doug: yeah anytime I say grinning Tom: I let my hands fall and I relax finally and just when I walk over to sit down again.
Nurse: Thomas Hanson tom: oh uh that's me but it's tom I say nurse: ok I say changing his name alright come with me sir Tom: ok I say I look Doug one more time before following Doug: I give tom a thumbs up tom: I smile at him than I follow her.

Mia: I was looking down at our daughter when I heard the noises so I looked up seeing Tom and I smiled Tom: Mia I say and I walk more into the room and once I do I go over beside her and I grab her hand holding it in mine, nurse: I'll leave you two and I go out shutting the door behind myself.
Tom: so are you ok Mia I say concerned Mia: of course, I'm ok tom I smile we're both ok tom: I then look down seeing my daughter and my heart stops she was simply the cutest thing I've ever seen and I bent over gently touching her head and feeling her soft curls of hair Mia: tears fell down my face but I wiped them away tom: I looked up at Mia tears in my eyes as well as I looked down at our daughter Mia: so do you wanna hold her Tom: oh yes I wanna hold her Mia: ok I chuckle and I hand her gently over to TomTom: I gently take her into my arms supporting her head with my arm and hand and I gently start rocking her in my arms Mia: www this is so cute I say, laughing through the tears Tom: it is I say wiping my tears away Mia: have we decided on a name Tom: you didn't pick the name yet I say confused than I look at Mia again
Mia: no silly you're my husband I wanted to wait for tom: I smirk then I walk over and I get on the hospital bed with Mia and we secure our daughter between us Mia: so do you have any name ideas Tom: what about like Lilly or Valerie Mia: Valerie I like it I say tom: Valerie Andrea Hanson Mia: I nod smiling Tom: I love you and I love Valerie I say than I plant a soft kiss to my wife's lips Mia: I kiss Tom back then we pull away and I rest my head on his shoulder Tom: I kiss mias head than we both continue staring at Valerie.
( few mins later ) Doug: knock knock I say loudly Mia: dougy I say happily Doug: Mia you're looking lovely Mia: I laugh don't be lying to me Doug: no you do I say and I walk more into the room Tom: alright that's enough Doug come in and visit she has to get some rest soon Doug: ok I then give the signal and Judy and captain fuller come in along with Harry Judy: awww look at her I say and go straight to the baby fuller: Mia how are you doing Mia: I'm ok I say smiling and I feel Tom rub his fingers softly against our connected hands. Fuller: that's good and congratulations on the little one I say as I walk over to Judy who's admiring her Mia: thank you captain I say I lean more into Tom as we watch Judy hold Valerie Judy: what's her name Tom: her names Valerie Judy: awww that's such a pretty name for her and I coo down at her Harry: you guys she is cute Tom: thanks Ioki Mia: I smiled nodding than I slowly closed my eyes drifting off to sleep.
(a few hours later) Mia: I slowly opened my eyes again and I looked around, muttering Tom Tom: I looked up from the book I was reading hearing mias voice you're awake Mia: did I fall asleep Tom: yeah you were out for a good few hours so everyone left Mia: where's Valerie Tom: she's asleep in her crib Mia: ok I say yawning Tom: go back to sleep you need it Mia: so do you come on Tom: alright I close my book and I set it on the chair then I get up and I climb into the hospital bed with Mia wrapping both my arms around her Mia: I love you Tom: I love you too I kiss her cheek then we both drift off to sleep.
