"Joey!" Janelle said, tapping her friends shoulders. "Joey! Wake up!"
Joey startled, looking up at Janelle, she sat up, rubbing her eyes.
"What is it? What's going on?" She looked at the time, it was still early, she hadn't slept in.
"You need to come see this,"
Quickly getting dressed Joey followed Janelle out of the dorms and into the quad.
"Oh no," Joey mumbled, hands covering her mouth. Printed out on a large poster was a newspaper article.
It was a picture of Javier, holding hands with the purple lizard monster Joey had run into before the final. The picture was blurry, but it was clear they were holding each other.
Everyone on campus was laughing and holding newspapers that all had the same picture.
"I have to go check on Javi," Joey said, Janelle nodded, still in shock herself.
Joey ran through the quad to frat row, she was out of breath by the time she got there.
She knocked loudly, she wanted to rush in the house, but she didn't live there.
Chip answered the door, it was clear he had been sleeping.
"Is Javi here?" She asked, Chip's face fell, he had seen the papers, he opened the door more.
"Thrid door on your left when you go upstairs," He said simply, closing the door behind her.
Joey rushed up the stairs, knocked on the door and waited a moment.
"Javi?" She asked, knocking again, "Javi, it's Joey, please open the door-" A blue hand came out and quickly pulled her into the room.
She was pulled into a tight hug, all four arms wrapping around her.
"Hey, hey..." She said softly, Javi sniffled, not meeting her eyes. "What happened Javi?"
"I got a note saying Randall wanted to meet with me, he was an old member of ROR but got kicked out at the end of last year. He was the only one who knew..." His voice cracked, she rubbed soothing circles on his back.
"When we met he took my hands and told me he was sorry about last year and that he missed the ROR's..." Javi started to shake the more he said. "But it was a trick, when he grabbed my hands he had someone take the picture, I didn't see who it was," He started to cry, Joey held him close.
"Javi, I am so sorry this happened," She said.
There was a knock at the door. Javi pulled away slightly, Joey saw how red and puffy his eyes were.
"Hey, Javi? It's Chet, I think we should talk, buddy," Javi inhaled sharply, let go of Joey and opened the door.
Chet, Chip, and Reggie, were standing outside the door, Chet was holding a newspaper in his claws.
"Can we talk in the living room please?" Javi said quietly, they all nodded, heading down the stairs. Joey and Javi followed them.
All three boys sat down on the sofa. Joey say say next to Chip and Javi sat down on a separate chair.
"Um, well I-I guess there's no easy way to start this," Javi said, voice quivering.
All three remained silent, waiting for Javi to speak first.
"I'm....well, I'm gay," Javi said bluntly, closing his eyes and waiting for their responses.
"And you and Randall are together?" Chip asked after a moment, Javi shook his head.
