Chapter 26: Tolerate Over Love

The day was warm, no clouds or cold breeze ran through the air. The sun was high in the sky.

Joey, the guy's, and Janelle were all hanging out in the ROR's backyard.

Javi, Chip, and Reggie were playing with a Frisbee, laughing to themselves.

Janelle and Chet were cooking on the grill, sharing smiles.

Joey and Johnny were sitting at a picnic table, leaning in close to each other. Johnny had his arm wrapped around her.

"Watch this," Johnny whispered, slowly moving off of the table and walking up to the sprinkler system. It turned on and sprayed, Javi, Chip, and Reggie. They groaned, then started to laugh.

Johnny sat beside Joey again, putting his arm around her and laughing.

"Haha! Very funny, Johnny!" Javi gave a fake laugh, but was still smiling.

"Glad we put on our swimsuits," Chip laughed, throwing the frisbee to Reggie.

Joey laughed, taking a sip of her soda. Johnny pulled out his phone, taking a picture of the two of them.

"Why do you take pictures of us every five seconds?" Joey asked, watching him set the picture as his Screensaver.

"I'm not taking them because of you, I happen to look fantastic in these photos,"

"Uh huh, I think you love me," Joey said smugly, pursing her lips and scrunching her nose at him. 

"Love you? Ha! I can barely tolerate you," He laughed, rubbing his nose against hers. 

"Ew get a room you two!" Chip groaned, catching the frisbee. 

"You guys were better when you were faking it," Javi said, hands both crossed and on his hips. 

"Picture time!" Chet announced, hopping up on the picnic table; Everyone ran over and posed. At the last second Johnny kissed Joey's cheek, they laughed and spent the rest of the day hanging out, enjoying each other's company. 

That picture got printed out and put on Johnny's corkboard, now he had two pictures with his genuine smile. 

"You have a really nice smile, you know," Joey walked into the room, walking up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist.

"So you keep telling me," He laughed, then turned and hugged her close.

"I'm gonna miss you over summer break," Joey said, Johnny nodded.

"I mean, we can still see each other over break," Johnny tried to lighten the sad mood. Joey made a face.

"But that would mean you'd have to meet my family," She cringed.

"Same with mine," Johnny added, they nodded before laughing.

"My parents are gonna love you," Joey wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I beg to differ," Javi was standing in the doorway with his arms crossed. "Her parents are super strict,"

Joey and Johnny jumped apart, glaring at him.

"Would it kill you to knock?" Johnny groaned.

"Yes. Also, Joey we gotta get going if you still want a ride home," Javi smiled before walking down the hall.

"I'll walk you out," Johnny said, walking out of the house towards Javi's car which was fill of suitcases and bags.

"I'll text you okay?" Joey hugged him tightly. They pulled away and kissed.

The others whistled, while Javi honked the horn.

"I'll text you back then," Johnny gave a smile as Joey got into the car and buckled in.

Javi started the car, putting the windows down and waving to the others before leaving campus.

"Bye guys!" Joey yelled with a smile.

"I'm gonna turn your room into a movie theater!" Chip yelled.

"Bye bye Squirt!" Chet waved his claw with a bittersweet smile.

"Bye baby!" Johnny put his hands over his mouth, telling loudly. Joey laughed shaking her head and turning to face forward.

"You'll see him soon, don't worry," Javi said turning on the radio.

"I know, everyone says it'll go by fast," Joey mocked with a laugh.

"No, I mean I'm gonna snitch on you to your parents and make him come over for an awkward family dinner,"

"You wouldn't dare," Joey gasped, mouth agape.

"Oh I totally would," He smiled, they laughed and talked the whole ride home.
