The guys ordered the meatball subs, much to Javi's disappointment, and hung out in the dining room eating.
"Wait so he said that right in your mom's face?" Joey said chuckling at Chips story.
"Literally standing nose to nose with her, yeah, that's why my brother lives in the garage now," Chip said finishing his sub, chuckling.
"What's your family like Joey?" Chet asked, sipping his soda loudly.
"Uh, well I'm an only child, so all the pressure to be a good Scarer falls on me. I think my dad wants me to be a carbon copy of my aunt," She said.
"Sounds like we all have really strict parents," Chip said, leaning back in his chair. The others nodded.
Joey looked to Johnny, he was awfully silent throughout the meal. She nudged his shoulder.
"What about you?" She asked, his face turned upset for a second before he cleared his throat.
"Same as the others, really strict family and stuff." He said quickly, wanting to change the subject. The others sensed this, Javi spoke up.
"My sister has it bad now, they used to put everything on me, but since I came out, they put it all on her. She's only 16, she doesn't need all that pressure," Javi said, taking a bite of his sub.
"Reggie, what about you?" Joey said, finishing her sandwich, wiping her mouth with a napkin.
"I'm one of 10 siblings," He said with a blank face.
The table burst out laughing, Chet started choking on his drink, causing then to laugh harder.
They finished their meal and bid each other goodnight. Joey offered to help Javi do the dishes.
"So what're your plans for tomorrow?" Joey asked Javi handing him dishes in the sink.
"I have this big test tomorrow, I've been studying but we've been so preoccupied with the Scare Games, I'm not sure how I'll do," He said scrubbing a plate.
"You'll do great Javi, I'm sure," Joey said reassuringly, he smiled, finishing with the dishes.
"You guys done yet?" Johnny asked walking into the room with a fake yawn. "I have to walk Joey home and am very tired,"
"Right, yeah," Joey said with a nod, wiping her hands with a towel and handing it back to Javi. "Uh, I will need my jacket though,"
Johnny groaned loudly, he pointed up the stairs.
"Second room on the right- don't touch anything- its on my desk chair," He said, crossing his arms.
"You're letting me in your room?" Joey mocked, he rolled his eyes.
"I don't feel like walking up and down the stairs, now go," He shooed her away, she laughed and jogged up the stairs.
He room was large with dark wooden floors and dark furniture. His bed was in the center of the room, his desk on the far wall.
As he said, her jacket was hanging over the back of his chair. Joey picked it up, laying it over her arm.
Above his desk was a corkboard with several newspaper clippings and pictures.
Most of them were of Johnny as a kid holding trophies and 1st place medals. But there was one photo where his smile was genuine.
It was him and the ROR guys outside the house, it looked like his mother and father were standing beside him. They all looked happy, like the pressure of college hadn't set in yet.
