"He's the true delight, by the way, very....positive." Joey gave a fake smile, glancing at Javi's confused expression.

"Sometimes he just gets like that, I promise I did not tell them we're dating, he just assumes 'cause-"

"It's fine honestly, if I had to have rumors about me dating someone I'm glad it's you,"

"Wanna get back to the party?" She shrugged and followed him back down the hallway to the main area with all the dancing monsters.

"Joey!" Janelle ran up to them, laughing softly. "Hey, where'd you go? I thought I lost you for a sec." Joey waved her hand dismissively.

"I'm fine, Javier wanted to give me a tour. Oh, Janelle this is Javier, Javier this is my roommate Janelle." They shook hands before Janelles boyfriend called her over again, she said a quick goodbye and walked over to him.

"Seems like we both have...fun friends," Javi joked, nudging her arm, she laughed back, checking her phone. It was only 8:30. She sighed, turning back back Javier.

"Why don't you show me the rest of the house?" He nodded taking her around the house, weaving in between monsters they entered the large kitchen.

"Johnny's family built the place way back when his grandfather went to school," Javi explained, showing off the breakfast table, dining room, and living room.

"I thought the main room with the fireplace was the living room?" Joey asked looking over the large room.

"Yeah, we have 2. The formal one out front where we throw parties and stuff and this one where we watch tv." Joey scoffed, so he's a rich jerk.

After showing off the whole downstairs, Javi stated that they shouldn't go upstairs because he didn't have the others permission. They sat on the end of the stairs and talked about her past year.

"I did a few things online, but dad got pretty upset, so I got a quick retail job just to get some money." He nodded, taking a quick sip from a red solo cup. "Have you talked to your parents recently?" His face fell, eyes intently scanning the inside of his cup.

"I called them a few days ago, they didn't pick up, but I left a message about last year and what classes I was taking this year." He took a drink from his cup, not meeting her eyes.

They sat in silence for a moment. Joey leaned in close.

"I know you think they don't care but they talk a lot about you when you're not there."

"If only they cared to actually talk to me when I'm around, instead of behind my back." Joey reached her hand around a put a comforting hand on his back.

They sat in a comfortable silence for the next half hour. Janelle walked up to them, soda in hand, big smile on her face.

"Hey, Joey, I'm kinda getting tired, you wanna head back to the dorm?" Joey stood, patting Javiers shoulder softly.

"Yeah, Javi I'll text you tomorrow ok?" He thought for a moment, before his head perked up.

"Wanna get lunch tomorrow? I have a morning class but nothing at noon." She nodded, waving him goodbye, and walking down the street with Janelle.

"So how was your boyfriend? Peter, right?"

"Percy. And sorry for leaving your side, he wanted me to meet his friends and show off my ping pong skills, and I just got caught up-"

"Hey, hey, it's ok, I was with Javi and not other stupid frat boys, like his rude friend," Joey interrupted, stuffing her hands into her jacket pocket.
