Sunday morning came and Joey left her dorm early to help set up. She found Claire and Brock hooking up the mics outside the ROR and JOX houses.

"Hey guys! Need help with anything?" She asked, clapping her hands together excitedly. Brock grimaced, moving away from the mic. Claire sighed.

"I...I know it's been a while since our first meeting, but rules are rules," Claire said awkwardly, fidgeting with her hands.

"What do you mean?" Joey asked, Brock piped in.

"You can't be in a frat that's competing in the games and also be on the council,"

"I know that, I'm not on a team," Joey said, walking up the side stairs up onto the platform they were on.

Claire and Brock shared a look before Claire handed Joey a clipboard. She grazed over it, seeing HSS, PNK, JOX, OK, and the frat Omega Howl all sighed up. At the very end was the ROR's. Joey's stomach dropped.

Her name. Why was her name at the bottom of the list?

"I'm sorry, we were really excited to have you on the team," Claire said sadly.

"Just, hold on for a minute ok, I need to go talk to someone," Joey said, jumping off the platform and walking up the ROR front steps.

She knocked loudly, Johnny answered the door.

"Oh hey, what're you doing here?"

"Why is name on the Scare Games sign ups?" She said, Johnny cringed and led her inside.

"I can explain-"

"You said that I'd cheer you on, and I was okay with that, but you didn't say anything about me participating," Joey interrupted waving her arms around angrily.

"There wasn't any other monster that was as good as you, we all agreed on this," He said, gesturing to the rest of the house.

"I didn't," Joey said. "I didn't want to compete I wanted to help behind the scenes,"

"I know, and I'm sorry I didn't tell you. But you were our last hope, we need your help, Joey," Johnny's face fell.

She sighed, turning away from him and looking down at the floor.

Maybe this could be a good thing. It would allow her to spend more time with Javi. It would make her Aunt proud, and her family too.

"Ok, ok, I'll do it, but you owe me," She turned around facing him, he smiled wide.

"Great, then I guess that means you're part of the team,"

"Welcome to the family, squirt!" Chet came through the main hall, followed by the others.

"You're a ROR now, buddy," Javi came up to her with a red sweater.

"Hey, that's mine!" Johnny stepped forward. "Did you go through my closet?" Javi and the others laughed.

"Hers hasn't been made yet and you did promise her one," Javi said before handing it to Joey.

Joey took it, displaying the ROR on the front.

"Come on, put it on!"

"Yeah, put it on," The others said,

Joey laughed, taking off her Greek Council jacket. She pulled Johnny's sweater over her head, like the jacket it was too long for her arms and fit nicely against her cast.

"Happy now?" She asked, the guys laughed and cheered, giving her happy smiles and shoulder pats.

"Okay, okay, the Scare Games Kickoff is gonna start soon, go finish getting ready," Johnny dismissed the others who laughed and gave Joey thumbs up as they left.

"Does that mean I get to live here too?" She asked, Johnny thought for a moment before shrugging.

"You don't have to if you don't want to,"

"You wouldn't get to share a bedroom with Johnny if that's what you're asking!" Chet piped in from the kitchen, eating a bowl of cereal.

"Stop eavesdropping, Chet! We've talked about this!" Johnny yelled, coming to stand in front of her.

"It would make it easier for us to act like we're..." She trailed off lowering her voice incase Chet was still listening.

"And don't worry you'd get your own room," He added with a laugh. She folded her Greek Council jacket over her arm. "Do you want me to take that?"

"I might have to return it to them," She said sadly, Johnny lifted the jacket from her arms.

"I'll put it in my room for now," He started to walk up the stairs, before turning and gesturing to the kitchen. "You're welcome to grab some food," He continued upstairs.

Joey followed the sound of the boys laughter. They were around the kitchen island laughing and eating toast and cereal.

Javi spotted her and smiled.

"How does it feel to be on the best fraternity on campus?" He asked smugly.

"My Aunt will be happy, that's for sure," She said with a laugh, the others chuckled.

"It's so cool that you're related to Hardscrabble," Chet said putting his bowl in the sink. "Why don't you have her last name?"

"My mom changed it from Hardscrabble to Kingsley when she married my dad. They wanted to hyphen it but it would have been a very long name for a elementary school kid to spell," They all laughed at the last statement.

Javi passed her a plate of jellied toast, she took a slice and laughed with the rest of the guys.

After a few minutes Johnny came back downstairs, clapping his hands.

"Alright ROR's time for the Scare games kickoff! Let's go!"

The boys finished their food, put away the dishes and rushed out front. Joey followed seeing a large crowd had gathered in the turnabout.

"Welcome to this year's Scare Games Kickoff!" Brock screamed into the microphone, feedback rang through the speakers. Monsters grimaced at the noise but kept laughing.

"The founder of the games, Dean Hardscrabble," Clarie announced, moving out of the way so Joey's Aunt could stand in front.

"Welcome students, be prepared this year's challenges will be the toughest ones yet. Testing both your intelligence and your bravery. Work together, and you might just survive. Only the toughest will,"

On que, a small green monster came up to the ROR's with a camera. Javi and Chet put their arms around Joey and posed. She forced a smile as the others posed as well.

She heard monsters start mumbling seeing her standing with them.

"Did they let a girl on the team?"

"Isn't that Johnny's girlfriend?"

"I though fraternities were for guys only,"

"Why is that bug dude still on the team?"

"Alright everybody, we're closing down sigh ups, unless there's a last minute sigh up?" Brock peered into the crowd, who laughed at his question. "Ok, then, well send out the Scare cards and see you all at the first event!"

Everyone cheered again before starting to disperse and get to their classes.

"Josephine," Aunt Abigail walked around the stage and up to them. Joey took a few steps towards her.

"Hey, Aunt Abigail," She said calmly with a little wave.

"Have you joined a fraternity?" Her Aunt asked, glancing up at the boys who gave small smiles and waves.

"Uh, yeah, I have. I'm a ROR now," She forced a chuckle still trying to wrap her head around the situation.

"Hmm, well then I hope you work these boys into shape," She gave a wicked smile over Joey's shoulder and walked away.

"Man, it's crazy to think you're related, must be a fun Thanksgiving," Chip mused, hands in his pockets.

"Oh you have no idea," Joey and the others laughed before heading inside.
