Joey was dreading how fast time flew by. After Javier dropped her off at her next class the hours flew by. Now it was 6 PM and she finally had time to shower.
She fell face first onto her bed, burying her face in the pillow, she did not want to go to the party. But she had promised Javier that she would go, and she knew better than to brake a promise to Javi.
Her eyelids slowly started to get heavier with every deep breath she took. She hadn't had a moments rest since 7:30 this morning, a small power nap couldn't hurt. Especially if she "accidentally" missed the party because of it.
Just as she closed her eyes and felt sleep over take her, Janelle threw the door open with a loud sigh. Joey jumped at the sound, squinting her eyes and looking at the now closed door.
"Oh hey, how was your day?" Janelle asked putting her books on her desk. She glanced back at Joey seeing her tired face buried into the pillow.
"Was alright" came her muffled words.
"Did I wake you up?"
"Wasn't sleeping. Wish I was though."
"Oh, come on, the party is gonna be fun. And hey, if you get overwhelmed at any point we can come back." Joey's head perked up.
"You don't have to leave just cause I want to,"
"I'm not just gonna leave you to walk here by yourself if it happens though, friends don't do that." She turned, sorting through her texts books for tomorrow's classes.
Joey smiled, laying her head back down. It was nice to know that Janelle had her back.
"And get ready, we should be heading out soon. It's almost 7 now and it's a bit of a walk." Grumbling Joey sat up, her phone buzzed, she sighed at the message.
Javier: don't forget 8!
Joey: Don't worry I won't.
Javier: :)
She smiled to herself, she would go, even for a little bit to see what Javier had been up to the last year. For him, because he has a bad reputation for vengeance when crossed.
30 minutes later, Joey and Janelle are walking down to frat row. It got cooler now that the sun had gone down, Joey pulled her jacket tighter around her wings. Her wings were very sensitive to temperatures.
"Oh hey, while we're here, you might get to meet my boyfriend, he's really sweet."
"Is he part of ROR?" Joey asked kicking a small rock along the sidewalk.
"No, he's in Jaw Theta Chi. Their houses are right next to each other. Whose your friend that's in ROR?"
"His name's Javier, he's tall and blue and has four arms and eyes." The rock she was kicking flew into a nearby bush. Janelle made a small "oh" inquisitive noise, thinking if she'd ever seen Javier before.
Finally they reached the end of frat row in front of all the houses. Music blared from the sidewalk, the windows changing colors from blue to pink. Monsters were laughing and drinking on the steps, lawn and street.
"You sure you wanna do this?" Janelle asked, stopping before climbing up the steps.
Joey glanced back at her, raising and eyebrow.
"You seem uncomfortable with this is all," Joey smiled at the thoughtfulness, it felt nice to know someone genuinely cared.
"I'll be fine, Janelle. It's only gonna be a little bit."
