"Logan! Get over here!" My dad shouted angrily.

The man never shouts so I know it has to be something serious.

"What's up?" I said poking my head at his office. My eyes immediately went to the report card, I'm assuming is mines, in front of him.

"Logan these grades are unacceptable!" He said shaking his head. "If you keep this up you will have to repeat the eighth grade!" He said angrily.

I leaned against the wall. I have no excuse for my grades. It's not that I was struggling to understand the curriculum, I just did not care.

"Logan, I need you to do better in school. I know you can do better than this." He said with a hint of disappointment on his face. It broke me knowing that I was upsetting my dad.

"I will dad." I said with remorse. I don't ever want to make my dad upset.

He's the best dad in the world.

"Also I have something else really important to talk to you about." He asked in a serious tone.

"What is it dad?" "What is it I hear about you and the Carmichael's daughter, Kendra dating?"

"Ew, no dad. She's just a friend." I said disgusted at the thought of dating Kendra.

Kendra is like a sister. I would never date her.

"Well she's telling her family that you two are an item." My dad smiled at me. "She's like one of the bros dad." "Well I want to give you this a piece of advice. I know you are only fourteen but when you find a girl that you really like, I want you to cherish her. Make her feel like she's on top of the world."

I looked at my dad and laughed. "Is that what you did with my mother?" "She wasn't always like that son. She had a rough life. I tried to give her everything but I guess that was not enough." Dad said with a hint of sadness in his eyes.

When he finally divorced my mother, it was the happiest day of my life. Now she is fighting him in court to get more money. I wish she would just leave us alone.

I walked out of my dads office and stared at my phone. I've been texting this new girl, Sherry, for the past couple of weeks and we were supposed to go to the movies tonight.

I looked at the time and it was almost 6:30 pm. Our movie starts at 8.

I texted Sherry and told her that I was on the way. I ran up to my room got dressed and walked over to her house that was only a few blocks away from mines.

When I knocked on the door, Sherry opened the door and I stared at her with mouth wide open in shock. Sherry's long blonde locks were gone. Half of her head was shaven off and the other side looked like a kindergartner did her haircut.
