Chapter 33: Sorry

"Mika! Oh my God! You aren't televised yet but you're already famous because of that Great Magazine! Robbie mentioned you in a live interview too."

"Everyone wants to know you."

"And anticipated her appearance in the fashion week."

"Oh my God! This is exciting!"

Ngumiti ako. I saw the blogs and comments about that magazine. Hindi ko inakala na kakalat iyon at maging kilala ang pangalan ko sa paraan na iyon. Fashion designers from different clothing lines are complimenting my work too. I personally hand sewed the beads detailed, everything for that dress.

"How about we'll subject the collection with Great?" biglaan kong suhestyon.

Today, we are wrapping up the final meeting for Fashion Week. Sobrang busy ng lahat sa paghahanda lalo na ang team ko. I have been working non-stop to finish all my designs for the event but luckily I had a lot of help.

"Great?"

I nodded shortly. "Well, uh, my work was first shown in that magazine. Media are anticipating my collection and I also owe it to them that I am recognized. And I think the designs we had for this event fit the subject, 'Great'."

Napatingin ako sa kanilang lahat dahil biglang tumahimik lang ang paligid. I swallowed unthinkingly and my heart started to beat fast. Kumurap kurap ako sa katahimikan nilang lahat.

"May mali ba sa sinabi ko?' napa-tagalog ako bigla. "Uh, Uhm..."

Umigtad ako sa kinauupuan nandahil sa sabay sabay nilang palakpakan. Napahawak ako sa aking dibdib habang gulat na gulat. They are clapping their hands at me, nodding with big smiles on their faces.

"Wow! I love the concept!"

"It fits all, Mika."

"You're amazing!"

"Yeah! Why not Great, right? The collection is about Filipino style mixed with foreign designs."

"Me too. I agree. I never thought of that subject."

Umiinit ang aking pisngi sa mga narinig mula sa kanila.

"Is that okay? Or if you have suggestions..." medyo nahihiya kong banggit.

"No, that's... great." tawa ni Daiyu. "I like the name, the subject."

I smiled at all of them. They are such warm and amazing people. I am glad I got to know them and work with them on this big project. Aaminin na mas lalong na-pressure ako tungkol sa fashion week marahil maraming nag-aabang nito at hindi lang brand namin ang naroon. There will be famous and outstanding clothing lines too.

"So, this is a wrap." nakangiti kong sabi sa kanila.

After another tiresome week, we are done with all the preparation. Just rehearse for the models by Monday and then the next week is the show. Mabuti't day off ko bukas kaya hindi ako papasok sa trabaho and I really need this day off.

Pagdating ko sa apartment, binagsak ko na agad ang aking katawan. I can smell Eren's scent lingering around the whole apartment. I pursed my lips and buried my head on the pillows. Ahead ng seven hours ang Pilipinas. It's past 6:43 in the evening here and we are seven hours late, which means in the Philippines, it is almost 12 noon.

Hindi ko nakayanan at inabot ko ang aking cellphone at dinial ang numero niya. International calls are expensive but I paid for them using my card which my parents left so it is not that a big loss for me. Dalawang rings at sinagot ang tawag kaya bumalikwas ako ng bangon na may malapad na ngiti sa labi.
