Chapter 2

June 26th, 1994    Boston, MA

Four months and eleven days later...

They walk over to see Elizabeth and Mitchell Willis. Both of them give Kent & Louise the strangest looks.

"Hi, neighbor. I don't think we've ever met. My name is Kent Givens. Pleasure is ours." says Kent. "Nice to meet you, too, Kent. May this be your lovely wife, Louise?" says Mitchell. "Yes it is. Hi, there." says Louise. "Hi, to you, too." says Mitchell. "I see you've just had kids. We'll leave you be. Nice to see you both; we must hang out sometime." says Elizabeth. "Thanks, we'll see you soon." says Louise.

Louise and Kent head home with Juliet and Isabella in hand. They walk in and continue taking care of the girls until one of them starts crying. That would be Juliet.

"Honey, get Juliet to calm down, please!" says Louise. "Give me her and her towel. I've got it." says Kent.

As Kent holds onto Juliet, she still crying and Kent comforts her as much as possible. Within that moment, Kent is getting a little fed up with her being upset so he gets her pacifier and puts her down in her crib.

"Where's Juliet?" says a concerned Louise. "I put her down in her crib." says Kent. "She's supposed to have her nap later not now. I wish you would understand!" says Louise. "I know, honey. I'm sorry." says Kent. "You're not sorry! You should've remembered that we have kids now! Just don't forget about them and give them a nap! It doesn't work like that at all! Sometimes in my life I wish we didn't have kids! I wish someone could adopt them and take of them properly!" shouts Louise. "You shouldn't have had intercourse with me so bad that it resulted in this! I will learn to love and cherish those kids." says Kent. "On the first night with them, you made a serious mistake! I'm calling an adoption agency to see if some other couple or family can take care of them. You!" says Louise. "I'm really sorry, forgive me?" says Kent. "I'm not sure whether or not I forgive you right now. In the morning, I'm calling the adoption agency and that's it! You just blew your chance at fatherhood! I'm going to bed. Good night." says Louise.

As Louise heads to bed with Isabella in hand, Kent is so conflicted with himself. He realized that he made the dumbest mistake a father could ever do. He makes a cup of coffee and sits on the couch in the living room and thinks this horrible decision over correctly.

A day later...

Louise wakes up to make coffee and noticed that Kent got both of the girls' out of their cribs this morning. But Louise has one more thing to do beforehand. She goes to the telephone and calls the adoption agency closest to them.

"Hi, there, this morning; I'm guessing you're Walter?" says Louise. "Yes, that's me. What is it?" says Walter. "We want to give our babies up for adoption." says Louise. "What are their names?" says Walter. "Juliet Anne Givens and Isabella Mae Givens; I've just recently gave birth to them. My husband & I are too unfit to take care of them." says Louise. "Okay, too unfit makes sense. That's all I needed. Make sure to have everything for the girls' including all of their records and anything else you think they may need. I want you, your husband, and the girls' in the office in four days. We already got an application in for a young couple to adopt. I think you may know them." says Walter. "Who are they? Can you tell us?" says Louise. "I cannot reveal that information until you walk in. That's all. It's against our policy." says Walter. "Okay thanks again. We'll see you in four days. See you soon. Bye." says Louise. "Bye now." says Walter.

Louise goes over to Kent of who is cooking breakfast and she tells him the news. This should be some news to tell.

"You called the agency?" says Kent. "I did." says Louise. "What did they want?" says Kent. "I told them we are too unfit to take care of our girls' and they want everything of the girls' including personal records. The person on the phone says we know the couple. Does that seem odd to you?" says Louise. "The unfit part reads right and we'll make a folder for the girls' records. That does seem odd we know them. Is there any guesses as to who it is?" says Kent. "I don't know. We'll see when we walk in the next four days." says Louise. "Okay." says Kent.

Four days later...

The couple wakes this morning with everything ready to go for the girls. They get breakfast on their way to the appointment. When pulling up to the appointment, they notice their neighbors' car in the parking lot. Why are they here?- Louise thought. The couple walks in with Juliet and Isabella and they see Walter.

"Good Morning, Kent and Louise. I see your beautiful baby girls' here. Well, let's get this situation over with. Take a seat please." says Walter.

They sit down as Walter tells them everything about the couple that wants to adopt them into their home.

"So, the couple is actually your neighbors Elizabeth & Mitchell Willis. We've learned that Elizabeth is a recovered alcoholic and works in the education field as a teacher. She is an only child so she's always wanted kids. Mitchell, on the other hand, works for the government and is kind of like Elizabeth but he's a recovered drug addict. They've been married for 10 years and had already filed the adoption papers when they weren't married yet. In fact here they are now. Elizabeth & Mitchell, welcome." says Walter. "Thanks." says both Elizabeth & Mitchell. "I never knew you were a teacher." says Louise. "I just love kids. They are a beam of joy in life." says Elizabeth. "Surprising." says Louise. "So, Kent and Louise are you ready to hand your kids to someone else?" says Walter. "I guess so. We have everything we need for the girls'." says Louise. "Sign these papers please and you'll be on your way." says Walter.

Louise and Kent sign the papers and hand Juliet and Isabella to Elizabeth and Mitchell Willis, their new family. Louise gets the rest of the girls' things and hands them to the Elizabeth.

"I guess this is a new chapter in our lives and an ending to yours." says Elizabeth. "It is. Take good care of them, will you?" says Louise. "I will. Bye now." says Elizabeth.

Elizabeth and Mitchell head out of the parking lot with the girls' in tow. She notices Louise crying and holding onto Kent. Elizabeth drives with Mitchell and the girls' home. They pull up to the driveway and Elizabeth gets Juliet out of the car seat as Mitchell gets Isabella out as well.

"Welcome home, Isabella and Juliet!" says Elizabeth. "We love you so much. We're gonna take good care of you. We have so many memories to capture. Come on in to your new home." says Mitchell.
