Chapter 13

September 22nd , 2000

One year and three months and twelve days later...

After school...

Today is the day Louise gets released today from jail. Mitchell, yet again, takes the girls to see her. They drive, and notice something rather odd when they walk in. Why is Kent here? Mitchell thought.

"Hi, Kent." says Mitchell, with a stern look on his face. "I'm here to see Louise get out of jail today." says Kent. "Do you know what she did? Hm?" saysMitchell. "I don't see it as much of a matter to me. I'm just happy to get my wife back." says Kent. "You are so oblivious to the fact that she's trying to kidnap the girls and take them back as yours!" says Mitchell. "Really? Louise wouldn't do that at all." says Kent. "Yes, she would. Don't believe me now, huh?" says Mitchell. "Whatever, dude. I just want my life back with her."says Kent.

Mitchell just shakes his head and moves the girls' behind him as Louise enters the main area of the jail. The girls' peek for a second, and they have terrified looks on their face.

"Dad,can we go please!? I don't want to be here!" says Isabella. "I really don't feel comfortable here." says Juliet. "Okay, we can go. But don't tell your mom nothing of this. You hear me?" says Mitchell. "Yes, Dad." says both Isabella and Juliet.

The yall walk out and car passes before they cross the sidewalk and it reveals Elizabeth. The girls' hide behind Mitchell now.

"Mitchell, you have some explaining to do!" says Elizabeth. "I'm sorry." says Mitchell. "Why are you disobeying me? You know I don't want the girls' here! It's not safe for them." says Elizabeth. "I know that, honey. Let's go home and make some dinner and forget this ever happened." says Mitchell. "Okay, that sounds fair. You do this again, we'll be through for good." says Elizabeth.

Everyon eheads home and Elizabeth goes home and Mitchell and the girls' soonfollow her. Arriving home, they see a package. It's addressed to the girls'. It reads, Sorry girls, I have do this for your own good. And I want you to be safe with your new adoptive parents. If I hadn't made the mistake of having either one of you none of this would've happened. But all in all, I get released and I want you girls back in my arms. I'm going to get myself personal help for what happened. The package inside also has some fresh cut flowers for the whole family with a note also reading, Sorry this all had to happen. -Louise & Kent.

The family is unsure what to think at this moment. It's a lot to take in and for this night, Elizabeth goes ahead and makes dinner. The girls' and Mitchell set the table. They sit and eat an hour later.

"How was your day at school girls?" says Elizabeth. "It was good." says both Isabella and Juliet. "How was your day, dear?" says Mitchell. "Fine, until that stunt you pulled earlier. But I'll forgive you this time." says Elizabeth. "This dinner is delicious by the way." says Mitchell. "Thank you, honey." says Elizabeth. "Not a problem." says Mitchell.

As they continue to eat, Holly drops by with Allison unexpectedly. Elizabeth is wondering why she's over here.

"Sorry to disturb you all. But I just wanted to come over and ask you tomorrow after school, can the girls come over for a play date?" says Holly. "Sure, by all means, yes. Girls, you fine with that?"says Elizabeth. They both shake their heads with "Yes." "Ok, cool; see you all tomorrow. Do you mind if we join you for dinner? I got home late from work." says Holly. "Sure; Mitchell, grab a few extra seats from the dining room please." says Elizabeth. "Okay, dear." says Mitchell. "What job is it?" says Elizabeth. "Some office job that pays reasonably well." says Holly. "That's good." says Elizabeth.

Mitchell hands them each a plate and they continue to eat. Holly and Allison leave after they are done eating.

"That was nice of them to stop by honey." says Mitchell, washing the dishes. "Yes, it was; thank you for cleaning up. Wanna go get some ice cream?" says Elizabeth. "Take the girls and we'll go. Sounds good. I'm in the mood for something sweet." says Mitchell.

Elizabeth grabs the girls' coats and heads out with Mitchell to get some ice cream. They stop by the grocery store and pick out their favorite flavors and head on back home. The family sits down with a bowl o fice cream each and they pop on a movie and just relax.

September 23rd, 2000

One day later...

After school...

Elizabeth gets off of work early today and surprisingly Holly does too. They head out with the girls' and go to the park for a playdate and get some coffee on the way.

"This was a day I needed. Thanks." says Elizabeth. "No problem. Something go wrong yesterday?" says Holly. "Mitchell didn't listen to me again." says Elizabeth. "Ouch. Was it another jail visit?" say sHolly. "Yes, unfortunately." says Elizabeth. "That sucks. Well, coffee always does the trick. You're here with me and the girls' and the weather is gorgeous. Be thankful for that." says Holly. "I am." says Elizabeth, admiring every detail of the leaves falling as the wind blows.

They stay for about an hour, and Elizabeth stops by the store to get the girls' a snack and some chicken for dinner. Now home, Elizabeth roasts the chicken, potatoes and veggies up for dinner. Mitchell arrives just after they do.

"Hi, baby; how was your day?" says Mitchell. "Great, actually." says Elizabeth. "Good, I brought you something." says Mitchell. "What could you have possibly up your sleeve?" says Elizabeth. "I have this weekend coming up off and I booked us a cabin and it's a way for us to reconnect again. You can ask Holly if she can watch them this weekend. Or get the nanny. " says Mitchell. "Mitchell, that's so sweet of you." says Elizabeth. "Can't wait to be with just you this weekend." says Mitchell, hugging and kissing his wife all over. "Let me finish dinner and I want to take the girls for a  sunset walk around the park afterwards." says Elizabeth. "Okay; by the way it smells so good in here!" says Mitchell.

Mitchell changes, and the girls' set the table and get ice water for everyone for dinner. Elizabeth just smiles as the girls' do this.

"Dinner's ready!" says Elizabeth. "Okay, coming down to eat!" says Mitchell.

They all sit and gather around the table and eat the dinner Elizabeth made. As soon as they finish an hour later, they grab their coats and walk around the park and watch the sunset. Mitchell brings the camera and takes pictures. Elizabeth walks over to Mitchell and kisses him, and says, "Thank you." He kisses her back, and says, "You're welcome, baby." They all take in this moment of bliss and don't want it to end. The family heads home after the sun has set, and get settled in for the night and go to sleep.
