Chapter 24
Elizabeth wakes the girls' up, and has them get ready for school this morning. The girls' wake up, and Elizabeth has everything ready for them for school this morning (including their coffee- which is a must!). They all leave around 7am, and head off; Mitchell left before all of the girls' did around 5am. Juliet sees Chris, and Isabella sees Allison. Elizabeth walks into the school, and heads to her classroom.
"Hi, babe. Missed you yesterday." says Chris. "I know you did. Me too." says Juliet. "Something bad happened?" says Chris."Nothing real bad, thankfully." says Juliet. "Ok, good. Let's walk to class before we are late." says Chris. "Okay." says Juliet, holding Chris's hand.
Both of the girls' loves walk in with them and begin their school day. Juliet arrives to her first class, and all of the sudden, she thinks she sees something she doesn't want to see.
This isn't happening again. Why won't my birth mom leave me alone?! I can't take this! Somebody or someone help me!- Juliet thought.
Juliet takes a deep breath, and pretend like that moment doesn't happen. She makes it through her first class all in one piece. She also just realized she was just seeing things. After the school day is over, Elizabeth and Isabella meet with Juliet and head home.
"Good day, dear?" says Elizabeth. "Yes, it was." says Juliet. "Good." says Elizabeth.
They take the subway home, grab some coffee on the way back, and head back to their apartment. Juliet and Isabella drop their backpacks at the door, and begin working on their make up and today's homework. Elizabeth goes to grade some papers, and all is currently well in the apartment.
"Mom." says Juliet. "Yes?" says Elizabeth. "Do you imagine things sometimes that aren't there?" says Juliet. "Yes, why?"says Elizabeth. "Nothing, I was just wondering." says Juliet."Who do you think you saw?" says Elizabeth. "Louise." says Juliet. "Honey, you don't need to worry about that. Continue toy our homework. She won't be coming back anymore. I promise you that."says Elizabeth. "Is she getting that help she needs?" says Juliet. "She is. Your dad talked to me and told me she really is getting that help she needs. I'm not lying about this one." says Elizabeth. "Good. I can't deal with crazy people anymore." says Juliet. "I don't blame you any, honey." says Elizabeth.
Everyone finishes up their school tasks, and Elizabeth goes ahead to making dinner to notice they don't have much groceries. "You girls want to go get groceries?" says Elizabeth. They nod and head off with Elizabeth to grab groceries. They take the subway to go to Whole Foods and grab what they need for dinner and beyond the week. This lasts about an hour, and they head back on the subway and go on back home to the apartment.
"I'll put stuff away and begin making some dinner." saysElizabeth. "Okay. I'll set the table." says Juliet. "I'll get plates and silverware out." says Isabella. "Mom, you need your flowers refilled?" says Juliet. "Grab the ones I bought from the store and you may refill them." says Elizabeth.
Juliet refreshes the flowers, and the whole table is set for tonight's meal. Mitchell arrives an hour later, and sees that dinner is all ready.
"Wow, babe; this looks good." says Mitchell. "It does. Had to make a grocery run today so we could eat dinner. But hey, thank you for being here. And I thank the girls for being here, too." says Elizabeth. "Me too. Let's all eat and talk about our day." says Mitchell. "Sounds good." says Elizabeth.
The whole family eats, and gabs about the day. The girls' clean up,and Elizabeth and Mitchell part to the couch to watch some TV. The girls' make their lunch for school tomorrow then join their "parents "to the TV as well.
"Dad? Is Louise getting that help she needs?" says Juliet. "I talked to her yesterday and set everything up and she is a good treatment place. This was one recommended by my boss actually. He enjoyed it when his wife was there getting treatment. To answer your question, yes she is. She wants to get better for you girls. She really misses you both." says Mitchell. "Okay." says Juliet.
They finish watching TV, and all of them head off an hour or two later. Juliet is so relieved that her birth mom is getting better for them. She smiles as Mitchell said that to her tonight.
Maybe there is a second chance at getting back something. Something that was once there before. Can't wait for that day to happen.- Juliet thought.
