Chapter 15

The same night...

They arrive home, and pick the girls up from Holly's house. Both of them are sound asleep.

"Both of them were so good this weekend. I take you two had a nice as well?" saysHolly. "Yes, we did." says Elizabeth smiling at Mitchell. "That's good. See you tomorrow then?" says Holly. "Yes, will do." says Elizabeth. "Bye now." says Holly.

Elizabeth waves back to Holly, and heads back with Mitchell and the girls' to the house. Mitchell places the girls in each of their beds and tucks them in as well.

"They look so beautiful sleeping." says Elizabeth in a soft tone. "They do. I had a nice time with you this weekend." says Mitchell. "Me too. It took my mind off of things and focused it on something special. Besides I've got to get things for my upcoming vow renewal. So..." says Elizabeth, still in a soft tone. "Yes, we'll get that all done tomorrow. Ready for bed, dear?" says Mitchell. "Yes, my Mitchell, yes I am ready for bed." says Elizabeth, in a soft tone.

Both Elizabeth & Mitchell get ready for bed and fall asleep; the night is just as peaceful for them now.

The next morning...

To Elizabeth's surprise, the girls' are off from school today due to the local carnival in town. So she gets the girls' up and makes them breakfast.They all eat, and head off to the park for a outing. Upon leaving, Holly asks: "May we tag along with you all?" Elizabeth nods her head. "Great; see you all there. Elizabeth, coffee?" says Holly. "Sure, yes. Coffee." says Elizabeth.

They stop for coffee first, and then take the girls' to the park. Elizabeth and Holly converse as the girls' play in the park.

"You seem happy." says Holly. "I am." says Elizabeth. "That's good. Anything exciting happen for your weekend away?" says Holly. "I was waiting to tell you but I guess I will now: me & Mitchell are renewing are vows soon." says Elizabeth. "That's exciting! When can we go dress shopping?" says Holly. "I've got to set a date and invite family and such to it. It surprised me when he told me about it." says Elizabeth. "I bet you were surprised. Can't wait for the renewal!" says Holly. "Me neither." says Elizabeth.

They stop conversing and get the girls' lunches out so they can eat. Holly and Elizabeth grabbed something already at the coffee shop for lunch before coming to the park. They all eat, and Elizabeth has to make a run to the grocery store for dinner. She waves "Bye." to Holly and heads to the grocery store. Elizabeth arrives and she smellssomething fishy walking into the grocery store. It's Louise. Shetakes a deep breath, and Louise says, "Hi."

"Hello, stranger." says Elizabeth. "Getting dinner? By the way I'm all cured now." says Louise. "I have a hard time believing that." says Elizabeth. "I am." says Louise. "Okay, if you say so."says Elizabeth. "Bye, now." says Louise.

She walks away and gets the rest of her ingredients to make pasta tonight for dinner. Elizabeth leaves with the girls' in tow to go back home and beginsgetting the girls' bags and lunch ready for school tomorrow. Thedoorbell rings, and Mitchell is home early.

"Hi, baby; I am so happy to see you!" says Elizabeth. "Me too. These are for you." says Mitchell, handing her a bouquet of fresh cut flowers. "Aw, thank you; having pasta for dinner tonight. Wanna help me?"says Elizabeth. "Sure. I'll make some salad up. Let me change first and I'll be back down to help you." says Mitchell. "Okay." says Elizabeth.

Mitchell changes,and comes back to help his wife make dinner. The girls' set the table and dinner is ready an hour later. They all sit to eat and converse about their day.

"How was your day, babe?" says Mitchell. "Good; met up with Holly and Allison at the park for some girl time." says Elizabeth. "That's good. This dinner though is delicious." says Mitchell. "Glad you like it." says Elizabeth. "Me too." says both Isabella and Juliet."Glad you like it too, girls." says Elizabeth.

After dinner is over, Mitchell cleans up and suddenly the phone rings- it's Louise. Elizabeth answers this one, even though she rather not.

"Yes, hello?" says Louise. "Hi, Louise." says Elizabeth. "Hi, I was wondering something?" says Louise. "Yes?" says Elizabeth. "May I come over to tell the girls what happened to me in the bad place?" says Louise. "I don't think that's a good idea." says Elizabeth, hanging up the phone.

She hangs the phone up, and shakes her head. The girls come over to her, out of the blue, and give her a hug. They must know...- Elizabeth thought.

"What did Louise want, babe?" says Mitchell. "She wanted to tell the girls' what happened. At the bad place." says Elizabeth. "You told her it wasn't a good idea? Right?" says Mitchell. "Yes, I did. The girls' shouldn't know until they are older for those kind of conversations." says Elizabeth. "I agree." says Mitchell.

The girls now being almost six years old head upstairs and get ready for bath time. Then Elizabeth dresses them in PJ's and off to bed those girls go .Elizabeth and Mitchell talk some more downstairs with a cup of decaf coffee.

"Why would sheask me that for?" says Elizabeth. "Maybe it's her way of telling the girls' she's better now." says Mitchell. "I don't think she is. I think she's hiding something." says Elizabeth. "What could she possibly be hiding?" says Mitchell. "I don't know, babe."says Mitchell.

They turn the TV on and it's what Elizabeth expected- Louise is arrested again but for this time- speeding.

"I told you, honey!" says Elizabeth. "It's not directed towards the girls', babe." says Mitchell. "I know but still." says Elizabeth. "Take a breath. It's okay. It was for something else. Sip your coffee and turn the TV off and come over to me. I'll hold you like when we were first dating." says Mitchell, with a smile to his face. "Okay, I will; I remember those days. Those were some good ones. Baby, I love you." says Elizabeth, kissing Mitchell. "I do, too." says Mitchell.

They finish their decaf coffee, and head on up to bed for the night.

Two days later...

September 30th, 2000

Elizabeth decides today is the day to go get everything for the vow renewal with Mitchell; she has Holly and Elizabeth's mom Greta come to pick out dresses.

"Thanks for inviting me, honey." says Greta. "No problem." says Elizabeth, glancing at wedding dresses. "Find one?" says the receptionist. "Yes, I did." says Elizabeth, holding a cream colored lace bridesmaid's gown.

Elizabeth tries it on and she loves it; shows it to her mom and Holly and they both love it, too. Takes the dress home with her and takes her mom and Holly out for a quick lunch. Elizabeth drops them both off, and heads home. Mitchell picked the girls' up from school today.

"Thanks, babe."says Elizabeth. "No problem." says Mitchell. "How was work? Good?" says Elizabeth. "Same as always. How was your day? Good?"says Mitchell. "Yes, I went vow renewal dress shopping with my mom and Holly." says Elizabeth. "Can't wait to see you in your dress and I'm just excited that's all to be doing this with you." says Mitchell. "Me too." says Elizabeth.

Just as the planning begins, Louise seeks her next target... yet again... the girls... Elizabeth and Mitchell will have an unexpected invite to the vow renewal. Stay tuned for what happens next...
