Chapter 31

This story I swear goes all over the place. Anyways, this part of the story is set three years later and yes, does get to the point. So, for you all, here is a new chapter.

Chapter 31

A few years later in June 2012...

New York, New York

Today is the day Louise goes to court to get her girls back as her daughters. This was a very long fighting process to get them back as she had to fix her life first. So, Louise, Elizabeth, and the girls' go to the court and win it.

"Girls, you ready to go? We've got to be there by 10am. It's nearly 8:30am now." says Louise. "Coming!" says Elizabeth, Juliet & Isabella.

They leave to get to the train to get to the courthouse on time. Arriving a few minutes before schedule, they grab some coffee and a quick baked good for breakfast. They arrive. The courthouse appears intimidating to Louise, as she back home, had to file for a restraining order against Kent to not go near the girls' (this was back in 2011 she filed this). But Louise knows she'll get her girls back and start life anew in New York.

"Miss Givens, I see you are filing a claim to take back your daughters from Mr. & Mrs. Willis." says Judge Thompson. "Yes, sir, I am." says Louise. "These were your girls from birth, but you gave them up to Mr. & Mrs. Willis as I quote- 'Too unfit to care for them'." says Judge Thompson. "Yes, sir, that is correct." says Louise. "Why do you want these young girls back into your life?" says Judge Thompson. "I want to be that proper parent to care for, to nurture them, to guide them through life in one piece. I went to better myself in a treatment facility. I did that for them. If I didn't, I'd still be there now." says Louise."I see. But what would be the real reason to?" says JudgeThompson. "To bring back the family I once had with these girls. They made me realize how important it is to have a mother in their life." says Louise. "I see that a valuable reason. Where's the father?" says Judge Thompson. "The father and I split due to him being with another woman while I was in treatment. He couldn't make it." says Louise. "Did that affect the relationship with the girls' differently? Him not being there?" says Judge Thompson."Yes, it did. It made me have to step up and take on both roles."says Louise. "Yes it's hard. But it made you really sit and think, didn't it?" says Judge Thompson. "Yes, it did." says Louise."Well, I hereby announce that Louise Givens, is granted full to take these girls' legally as her own again." says Judge Thompson."Thank you, sir, so much. I appreciate it so much." says Louise.

Louise walks over to her girls' and hugs them and doesn't let them go. She smiles, as does everyone else. Elizabeth walks over to her to hug her as well. This was one day Louise will not forget at all. So, in the same day, Louise goes to get her new ID for New York, get a bikes for the girls' and her to ride around the city in, and takes Elizabeth, and the girls' out for some lunch after court. She is humbled that things will be good again. It makes Louise think of this song the girls'introduced her to called Girl on Fire.

Louise and the girls' go back to the apartment and noticed Mitchell has balloons, cake (gluten-free for Louise), and some housewarming gifts for her and the girls'.

"Baby, you didn't have to doall of this." says Elizabeth. "I did this for Louise for finally getting her girls' back. Louise, I can't thank you enough to do what you did for those girls. You had everything in your heart to do it. We are so proud of you. As a matter of fact, you were trying to find a nice 2 to 3 bedroom apartment near where we live. Is that right?" says Mitchell. "Yes." says Louise. "Well, I was nice enough to get you a showing of it today. And I'd like to be the person to take you there. If that's alright with Elizabeth." says Mitchell. "It's fine with me. I'm just so proud of Louise and the person she is becoming. Well before you go, let's have some cake, coffee and tea. You can come back and open your housewarming gifts." says Elizabeth. "Okay, let's do that so." says Louise, smiling.

Louise, and everyone dive into the gluten free chocolate cake alongside their warm mugs of either tea or coffee. They share a light laughter within this. Then everyone but Elizabeth heads off to see the apartment. The apartment boasts a lot of space for all of them- a large kitchen, bedrooms for all of them, etc. Louise is so enamored when she walks in. She looks at Mitchell and nods her head yes. They head to the real estate office right away, sign the papers, and do the waiting process. A few days later, Elizabeth receives a call back and hears that the apartment is hers. She is glowing with joy. They get everything out of Mitchell and Elizabeth's apartment, pack it up, and take it to the new apartment. Louise is in such a good place now. The girls' and her set up in the new apartment right away. But upon arriving, she sees a beautiful bouquet of flowers sent to her from Elizabeth and Mitchell.

"Girls, what you do want to do on our first night in?" says Louise. "Order some pizza, please." says Isabella. "I think that sounds good. I'll order it for all of us." says Louise.

Louise orders the pizza for all of them. In a half-hour, it arrives and they all sit on the floor Chinese style and eat some of it. They finish up some more packing and call it a night. The next day, the girls' and Louise head out to stock the fridge up with some whole-some healthy foods for all of them (minus the leftover pizza). They come back, finish up the remnants of packing and head to Target after they are done to get some furniture for the new place. Coming back from Target, they get a new couch, some new rugs, dishware, pots/pans, cleaning items, baking items, silverware, mugs, coffeemaker, and a dining room table (they had the heavy furniture delivered to theapartment). They finally call the apartment all finished as of this day. Louise finally feels the apartment is complete.
