Chapter 23

Sorry it's been awhile since this story has been updated. So I thought I would update it for you. I think personally, this is one of my favorite chapters I've ever written. Hope you think so, too!

Chapter 23

Yesterday was one unfortunate day. As the girls are still shaken up, Elizabeth suggests they stay home until they feel safe enough again. Both of the girls wake up, and Elizabeth makes them each a cup of coffee.

"Good morning, girls." says Elizabeth, handing the girls their coffee. "Morning." says a tired Juliet. "Morning to you." says Isabella. "What do you girls want to do today? Since I know yesterday was a bit traumatic, I let the school know that you won't be coming in today." says Elizabeth. "Thanks, mom." says both Juliet & Isabella. "Any ideas? No rush. Sip your coffee, and I'll make us all breakfast." says Elizabeth. "Morning, honey." says Mitchell, grabbing his things for work. "Morning, babe. Heading off so soon?" says Elizabeth. "Yeah, I wish I could stay. But I promise today for all of us, it will be a great day." says Mitchell. "Bye, babe. Call me before you get home." says Elizabeth. "You, too." says Mitchell.

Elizabeth makes the girls breakfast, and had already let the school know she won't be in either due to the events of yesterday. Everyone eats, and continues to enjoy this peace for the morning time.

"Mom, I figured out what I'd like to do today." says Juliet. "Yes?"says Elizabeth. "How about a yoga class? One of my friends mom at school has a studio we can go to." says Juliet. "That sounds like fun. But honey, we don't have mats or anything." says Elizabeth. "No worries. She provides mats for those that don't have any." says Juliet. "Would you like to do this too, Isabella?" says Elizabeth. "Count me in! I'm all for trying new things." says Isabella. "What time should we go?" says Elizabeth. "I'll call, and see what times are open. And to wear something comfy. I know that's required." says Juliet. "Okay, you do that. I'll clean up and we'll get ready." saysElizabeth.

Elizabeth cleans up, and everyone else besides Juliet gets ready. Juliet calls to see that they have a 2pm appointment open for yoga today. She lets everyone know, and then Juliet finally gets ready. Surprisingly, this yoga studio is a short walk from their apartment complex; so halfway, they stop for some local coffee and a quick bite for lunch.

They all arrive to yoga, pay, and notice that the class is small. Everyone sets up their mats, and begins the class (which is for an hour). After the class is over, the girls and Elizabeth head back and change and just relax for the time being.

"Juliet, that was a great suggestion. Must do again sometime." says Elizabeth. "Yes, must." says Isabella. "Glad you guys enjoyed it." says Juliet. "Your dad called me and told me he is supposed to be getting off early tonight. He suggested going out to eat. How does that sound?" says Elizabeth. "It sounds great!"says Juliet. "It does." says Isabella. "It does, doesn't it?"says Elizabeth. "Yup." says Juliet. "Anyone want another coffee?" says Elizabeth. The girls nod, and say, "Yes."

Elizabeth makes another batch of coffee for everyone, and they sip and savor and talk about the day thus far. The doorbell rings, and Mitchell is home!

"Hi, babe!" says Elizabeth. "Hi, honey; are you all ready for dinner tonight?" says Mitchell. All of the girls nod, and say,"Yes."; "Good, did you all have a nice day?" says Mitchell. "Juliet's friends' mom owns a yoga studio and all three of us girls' went for a class today. It was much needed!" says Elizabeth."That's cool. I'm going to refresh myself and we'll head off about 6pm for dinner." says Mitchell. "Sounds good, babe." says Elizabeth.

Mitchell refreshes himself, and the girls' continue to drink their coffee. Six pm rolls around, and they take the subway to go to therestaurant Mitchell picked out tonight. They walk a few blocks, andarrive to a cool little dive find of a restaurant. Everyone seems to be impressed. Everyone walks in, and they get seated, and order drinks.

"Cool place, huh?" says Mitchell. "You did good, dad. You did good." says Isabella, patting Mitchell on the back. "Thanks."says Mitchell. "Honey, thank you. This was one normal day we've had in quite sometime." says Elizabeth. "You're welcome. Anything for my girls." says Mitchell.

Drinks arrive, laughter surrounds them, and then they begin to order appetizers then their meals. Finally for the first time in a while, nothing bad happened and happiness was bestowed back into the picture again. All of everything arrives, and they eat and savor each bite. They leave after an hour, and head back onto the subway to go home.

Arriving back, everyone refreshes themselves before bed. Elizabeth asks, "Do you girls want some tea before going to bed?" They both nod in agreement. Elizabeth makes them some tea, and they sip it before falling asleep. Elizabeth makes herself some, and heads off with Mitchell to bed an hour later.

 Everyone falls asleep, and hopefully God's graces brings them more happy days like this one.
