Chapter 9

I haven't put a new part up in so long. My writer's block is finally cured! So, here's a new part for your reading enjoyment today.

Chapter 9

June 27th, 1999 Boston,MA

Elizabeth goes ahead to get the girls' out of bed the morning; Mitchell soon follows and they all go downstairs and make breakfast. Out of the blue, the phone rings.

"Hello?" says Elizabeth. "Yes, this is Allison's mom; I was wondering is it okay for me to come over with her today? If you're not doing anything that is." says Allison's mom. "We don't have any plans for today. So, I don't see why not." says Elizabeth. "Okay, is 1pm fine?" says Allison's mom. "Sure. Can't wait!" says Elizabeth. "Great! See you at 1pm." says Allison's mom.

Elizabeth puts the phone back on the wall and Mitchell asks her, "Who was that?" Sheresponds with, "That was Allison's mom; she's coming over to have Isabella play with her today." He says, "Okay, cool. I can take Juliet to the park while you get to know Allison's mom." Elizabeth responds with, "Yeah, that would be good for you both to bond as well." He responds with, "Okay, I'll go ahead and get ready for my time with Juliet. Juliet, come on, sweetie." Juliet responds with, "Okay, daddy. Coming!"

They all go up to get dressed and ready for the day. Mitchell leaves with Juliet in hand and they head to the park. Elizabeth sets up some snacks for her guests coming and lays out some toys for the girls' to play with. The doorbell rings, and it's Allison and her mom; Elizabeth goes to greet her and Allison at the door.

"Hello!" says Elizabeth. "Nice to meet you, Elizabeth. I'm Holly." says Holly. "Holly, nice to meet you. I've got snacks for everyone and toys for the girls'. You guys ready?" says Elizabeth. "Yes, sure." says Holly. "Go on ahead and play with Allison, sweetie. Okay? I got you toys out." says Elizabeth. "Okay, mommy; ready, Allison?" says Isabella. "Yeah." says Allison.

Both of the girls'play as the adults converse on the couch. Elizabeth asks Holly some questions.

"What do you do?" says Elizabeth. "I help out at a day care for Allison."says Holly. "That's nice. I'm a teacher." says Elizabeth. "That's great! I love that you get summer's off. Wish I did. But the day care I go to doesn't let us." says Holly. "That's a bummer." saysElizabeth. "It is." says Holly. "I'd love for you all to stay for dinner. If that's okay." says Elizabeth. "That sounds like fun. We'll stay for dinner." says Holly. "Cool. You'll get to meet my husband and my other daughter." says Elizabeth. "Another daughter?" says Holly. "Yeah, her name is Juliet." says Elizabeth. "Pretty name." says Holly. "Thanks, it was the name given to the people we adopted her from." says Elizabeth. "You adopted?" says Holly. "Yeah, I've always wanted kids but Mitchell and I with our jobs we wouldn't have the time to care for them."says Elizabeth. "You have your summer's off." says Holly. "It's not enough. So, we got a nanny for when I go back to work in August."says Elizabeth. "At least you got a nanny for your kids. That's nice!" says Holly. "It is. Makes life a little easier sometimes."says Elizabeth.

Doorbell rings,and Mitchell and Juliet are back from the park. Elizabeth goes to greet them and also noticed that Mitchell got dinner on the way back from the park. How thoughtful!- Elizabeth thought. A few hours later, Elizabeth gets plates on the table for everyone plus two extra chairs. They all sit down at the table and dig in.
