Chapter 28
A week later back in Boston, MA...
Louise is with her lawyer in the room to sign these divorce papers. Kent sits across from her, disgusted, confused and every other emotion in between. He then soon follows signing the papers and walks out. He shakes his head and just can't believe himself. Louise is now a free woman; she sees Elizabeth and the girls' waiting for her outside the room.
"That was a bit nerve wracking. But it felt good. I needed to do that."says Louise. "We are so happy for you." says Elizabeth. "What do you want to do now?" says Louise. "We can grab some lunch while we're here. Train isn't until 7pm." says Elizabeth. "Okay. Let's head and grab something." says Elizabeth.
The girls' head out to this lovely restaurant a few blocks from the building. Everyone grabs a seat, orders some drinks, and Louise says, "Thank you for this." Elizabeth replies back with, "You're so welcome."
The girls' order their meals, and Juliet asks, "How does it feel to be a free woman?" Louise says, "It feels like a new beginning is in order. For us. And for the future." Isabella says, "You got the love you need from us anyways. You don't need a man's love to prove anything." Louise says, "That's the best thing I've ever heard from you. Who knew I got two smart daughters?" Smiles light up the room, and the food arrives and they all eat.
About 5pm they head back to the train station, and wait for the 7pm back to New York. As soon as 7pm arrives, everyone including Louise (with her extra bags of clothes with her) heads back, too. Elizabeth is lettin gher stay for a few so she can get herself on the right track. They all arrive back, and get settled in for the night. Elizabeth makes the guest room up for Louise. She already feels at home. And now feels safe. Right where she belongs.
"Need anything Louise?" says Elizabeth. "Nope, all good. Actually, a cup of coffee would be nice." says Louise. "I was just going to make some for the girls and I. Sit downstairs with us and have a cup." says Elizabeth. "Okay, will do." says Louise.
Elizabeth makes the coffee for everyone; Mitchell just now arrived back home and Elizabeth tells him all the news. He hugs Elizabeth and just kisses her. He is so proud of what Elizabeth has become. He also brought some dinner home in case they hadn't ate yet.
"Coffee ready?" says Louise. "It is." says Elizabeth, handing her the cup of coffee. "Nice to see you, Louise. Sorry about the news. But hey you're in a better place now." says Mitchell. "I know I am." says Louise.
Sh esips her coffee, and just smiles. She is just so grateful for the way things will get now. Today couldn't be more better. I'm happy I've got things I need. Love for life again. It's a nice feeling. I hope this feeling continues.-Louise thought.
