Chapter 20
The same day...
"Surprise!" says Louise. "Who invited you? Nobody wants you here in the firstplace." says Mitchell. "Says who?" says Louise. "Says me, the girls, my mom and my husband." says Elizabeth. "Okay, sorry to barge in on the soiree here. And yes in case you were wondering... I did get help finally." says Louise. "Well that's good. Have you proved yourself enough to take the girls as your own? Or the girls can decide that for themselves if they want to?" says Mitchell. "Maybe." says Louise. "How hard is it to get help, Louise?"says Elizabeth. "It's hard." says Louise. "Your just saying it's hard when it's not." says Elizabeth. "I got some of it. Not all." says Louise. "Which part did you miss?" says Elizabeth. "Anger management." says Louise. "What's new?" mutters Mitchell. "Okay, then go to your anger management classes. If you need someone to take you I can." says Elizabeth. "Alright. I'll go. First class is next Monday." says Louise. "I'll take you. Let me know the time and such." says Elizabeth. "Okay, I'll be leaving sorry to disturb this family time." says Louise, walking out the door.
They continue back into the dining room, and Mitchell make fresh new cups of tea for everyone. Elizabeth's mom Greta says, "Who was that?" Elizabeth replies back with, "The girls' birth mom." Greta says, "She's delusional. I hope she gets her help and honey, that was nice of you to help her out." Elizabeth replies back, "I've just been having these good feelings lately. I want to help her even though I don't." Greta says, "You should. She needs it." Shec omes over to her daughter and hugs her with a smile gleaming to her face. Mitchell gets himself another cupcake, and says, "Thank you for helping her, babe." Elizabeth replies back with, "No problem. I'm ready to head back to work tomorrow. I think taking time off tos pend with the ones I love think helped. Plus that yoga class helped,t oo." Greta says, "Well, I think you're ready to. Hope you do have a good day tomorrow. I don't want to keep you all any longer. I'm going to head home now." Elizabeth says, "Okay, mom; girls and Mitchell come say goodbye." They all head over and give her each a hug and a kiss. Greta leaves to go home, and everyone else begins getting ready for bedtime.
The next day...
Everyone wakes up and notices that it stormed this morning. Mitchell goes over to make the coffee for him and Elizabeth. She wasn't ready enough to go back to work just yet. So, she stayed another day at home with her people. Her mom is dropping by to check in on her today.
"Here's your coffee, babe; want anything else?" says Mitchell. "Nope. I'm good. You going to work today?" says Elizabeth. "Unfortunately, yes. Your mom will be here in a few to check in on you today." says Mitchell. "Okay. I appreciate that she's coming over. The girls would love to see her again." says Elizabeth, sipping her coffee. "Well, I'm going to get ready and I'm coming home to bring you a surprise to cheer you up." says Mitchell, kissing Elizabeth's forehead. "Okay, you have a good day at work, babe. I love you so much." says Elizabeth. "I love you always." says Mitchell, smiling at Elizabeth. "You too." says Elizabeth.
She gets up, and makes her and the girls' breakfast. The doorbell rings, and her mom arrives. Greta says, "Hi, baby; I'm happy to see you. Anything you'd like to do today with the girls?" Elizabeth replies back with, "Sure. We can go shopping. I've got the cleaning people coming today so that would be perfect." Greta replies back, "You have cleaning people? Okay, we'll go shopping and you'll promise me that you are going back to work tomorrow." Elizabeth says back, "Yes, mom; I promise."
Her and the girls' eat breakfast; Greta helps to herself making some coffee. They get ready to go out for the day. They leave in about an hour, and head out today. Greta walks around with the girls and Elizabeth and they get lost in the mall (in a good way of course).
"You want anything, honey?" says Greta. "A candle, and a good book would be nice." says Elizabeth. "I'll get it for you." says Greta. "Okay, thanks, mom." says Elizabeth. "You're welcome."says Greta.
They stop into a book store, and a candle shop to get the items for Elizabeth. Everyone gets hungry, so they stop by the food court and grab some lunch before heading to get some coffee and hot chocolate on the way home. They leave the mall, and head on home. Upon arriving home, the cleaning people left, and they all come in and get things put away. Greta says, "Anything else my girl needs?" Elizabeth says, "No. I've got all I need now- a candle, a coffee, and a new book hopefully that's good." Greta says, "Okay, well I'll head out now and I'll see you sometime. I love you." Elizabeth replies back with, "Love you, too, mama."
She makes the girls and her a snack. Mitchell arrives home after Elizabeth's mom leaves. He comes in with a large bouquet of flowers, and stuff to make dinner.
"Babe, I need some help with the groceries." says Mitchell. "Coming!"says Elizabeth. "You got them?" says Mitchell. "Yes; are these flowers for me?" says Elizabeth. "Yes, they are. I thought theywould boost your mood and inspire you to go back to work." says Mitchell, giving Elizabeth a kiss. "Thank you, baby. Appreciate it. My mom got me and the girls out for the afternoon at the mall."says Elizabeth. "Was it nice? Get anything?" says Mitchell. "Sheg ot me a new candle and book." says Elizabeth. "That's nice. By the way, I've got dinner taken care of so go relax with your book and let the girls' play some." says Mitchell. "Okay. Thank you for everything." says Elizabeth. "Yes, dear." says Mitchell.
Mitchell begins making dinner, and Elizabeth starts burning her candle and begins to read her new book. The girls play as she does that. She takes this moment of bliss and holds onto it and doesn't let it go. This was something that she needed in her life. Hopefully tomorrow, work will be even better.
