More people were dying as more names were added to the Death Note. L and I stood out on the roof of the task force building in the pouring rain, thinking about everything that had happened. He had his arms around me, trying to warm me up. He seemed to be listening for something, and he was looking out into the distance trying to figure that out.

"What are you listening for?" I asked with curiosity. "The bells, can't you hear them?" he invited me to listen for the elusive bells. I looked in the same direction he was and concentrated. I heard a faint bell, ringing ominously. There was a funeral going on across the street at the cathedral. It was a sense of foreboding of what was about to come. I laid my head back against his shoulder and then he kissed me on the cheek, "You are so beautiful."

I turned to face him and we were kissing in the rain. We didn't care the rain was freezing, but we were in our own little world, and still very much in love.

Just then I began to shiver because of how cold it was, and we stopped kissing. "Honey, you okay?" "Yeah, just got a little cold."

"We should probably head inside," L put his arm around me and we made our way inside. Luckily we were able to find some towels to dry off.

I used my towel to pat my hair dry and L was doing the same. We sat next to each other, catching glances and smiled.

I felt water dripping down the side of my face and just as I was about to pat it dry, L got the water droplet away by gently bringing my face to his and stroking it. My cheeks were turning red, "Thanks sweetheart." I smiled. "You're welcome, love of my life," he said warmly. I scooted closer to him, and I touched his face, "You're lips look a little blue, should I warm them up for you?" I flirted. L chuckled, "That would be helpful," he joined in flirting and we started kissing. He touched my face as we kissed and I hugged him. We had been married for almost a year, and we still had the spark of romance.

"I hope I'm not interrupting anything," Light's voice interrupted our moment.

L and I stopped kissing and we looked at my brother. "Can I ask you a question, Light?" L asked, his black eyes narrowed with focus. "Sure," my brother replied with confusion. "Were you always honest, as a child?"

"No, as a kid we all told a little white lie every now and then." Light stammered, not knowing what to say.

"Like when we were kids, when you stole my bike because I had the better one and you said gremlins took it?" I asked Light with a knowing smile. This made my brother laugh, "In my defense, I should have had that bike," he teased. "Very funny" I grinned. "That is funny," L laughed. "In the end, it's always better to tell the truth, or you'll end up hurting someone greatly, and depending on the severity, lose their trust."

I knew what L was trying to pull off, he was trying to see how Light would react if he slightly hinted at knowing he was Kira. L and I stared at my brother, wondering what he would do.

"In any case, I hope mine and L's future child will be like you, and that you'll be around." I told my brother with genuine hopefulness. "I hope so too, Saki." Light replied, I could tell he was getting slightly confused. "In spite of everything, Light, I do love you. You will always be my big brother." I hugged him. Even though he had done some incredibly evil things and he needed to be held accountable for his actions, but I still loved my brother. I didn't hate him. I didn't want him to know that I was saying goodbye to him. I needed to make it seem like L and I were dead in order for him to be stopped. We needed to make him think that he won.

"Light, Ryuzaki, Saki, we need you!" Matsuda had ran out into the hall to bring us into the control room.

Goodbye...
