About an hour after the service, I went down to the kitchen to see Five rummaging through the shelves next to the fridge for something, "What are you looking for?"
"Coffee." Five responded as he moved from the shelves to the cabinets.
"You know as well as I do that Dad hated coffee." Five stopped and stared at me with his head tilted and an annoyed expression plastered on his face, "I know a half-ass coffee shop down the road if you want to join me for something."
"Griddy's?" He asked, "I'm familiar. All of us snuck out to go there when we were kids."
I furrowed my brows, "That was Griddy's?"
Allison came into the kitchen with us, coat in hand, "Where's Vanya?"
Klaus followed her into the room with... an electric guitar? "Oh, she's gone."
"That's unfortunate." Five sighed.
"Yeah." Allison agreed.
"Unfortunate that we live in an entire square block with forty-two bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, but no, not a single drop of coffee."
Klaus sat in the chair at the end of the table, "Ah, yes. He hated caffeine and children yet still managed to have plenty of us."
"I'm taking the car." Five said as he began to walk out of the kitchen, standing next to me.
Klaus put the guitar down and sat up, "Where are you going?"
Five squinted his eyes at Klaus, "To get a decent cup of coffee."
"Do you even know how to drive?" Allison crossed her arms.
"I know how to do everything." Five grabbed my wrist and blinked the both of us in the alleyway with the car, without any warning.
When we made it outside, I stumbled a little but quickly caught my balance. Five walked over to the driver's side of the car as I went to the passenger's. As we sat down and Five turned the keys, there was a constant dinging.
He let out a flustered sigh and turned the car off, "Car is too low on fuel."
I looked out the window to see my motorcycle, "Follow me."
"What-" I cut Five off by getting out of the car and walking over to my bike.
Five got out of the car and stared at me, unsure, as I hopped onto my bike and kicked up the kickstand, "You want coffee, or not?" I lifted a brow.
Five sighed before getting on the back of my bike, "I'm not wearing a helmet."
"And I'm not offering one." I readjusted my seat so there would be more room for the two of us, "Plus, I dont ride with one anyway."
"Aren't you an officer-" I turned my bike on, cutting off half of his sentence.
I walked the bike and the two of us out of the alleyway, my engine roaring, yet Five still hadn't decided to hold on. So, right before we made it to the street, I squeezed my handle for a split second to give it a little jolt, and Five grabbed onto my waist immediately. I tried not to let out a little laugh, but I couldn't help but let one slip. Now that Five was actually hanging onto my waist, I pulled my throttle and sped off down the road.
