After All This Time

Chapter Forty-One

I opened my eyes and immediately became aware that I was on the ground. My eyes widened and I jumped up, not knowing what was happening. I looked around trying to get a sense of what had happened to me, and all that I saw was a container of spilled blackberries and a bunch of rocks spread out everywhere. But that wasn't it. Both sides of my nose were bleeding, but it was still wet meaning that I wasn't out for long. So I must have been using my powers, and it was slowly coming back to me. I looked at the blackberries on the ground and then behind me at the bushes I collected them from. And then the broken rocks scattered everywhere on the ground caught my eye, most rocks aren't shaped the way that these ones are, like they were broken. And it was weird that they were all scattered in one area. And then it clicked, everything before I woke up. Five was getting a tattoo, I decided to explore the forest, then I started practicing my powers, and I got carried away and lifted something over my limit. But that was the goal, and I accomplished it. I licked the blood from my lips, and then I wiped off as much as I could without seeing myself. I felt a bunch of spikey things on the back of my neck so I pulled my ponytail in front of me and found a bunch of leaves in it. So I started picking the leaves from my hair, and I walked over to the spilled container of blackberries. I bent down and picked up the container and put the un-smashed blackberries in the container. I finished putting the berries in the container shortly after and stood back up. I know that it probably wasn't a good idea to use my powers after passing out from them, but I lifted the container of berries with my mind. But when I did, I wasn't weak from using such a large amount of power minutes ago, but almost as if that power was sore, like a slight ache while using it. So, I lowered it into my right arm and decided to carry it. And I made my way back to the trailer as I picked leaves out of my hair.

Around 15 minutes later, I was nearing the trailer. I could see it in the distance.

And coincidentally, I saw Five come walking behind the trailer buttoning up his waistcoat, "Y/N!" He called.

"Coming!" I yelled back.

I see Five's figure in the distance turning his head looking in the direction from where I came from. And after he looked around for a few seconds more, he spotted me and then disappeared. But the next thing I knew he was walking next to me.

"How was it?" I asked him.

"Good." Five responded as he pulled a leaf from my hair with a curious expression.

"Blackberry?" I showed him the container with a soft smile.

Five furrowed his brows, "Yes, actually." I handed him the container, "Why did you use your powers?" Five asked as he popped a berry in his mouth.

"How did you know?" I asked as we kept walking.

"Because..." Five stopped walking, and so did I, "You have dried blood right above your lip." Five lifted his hand to my face and ran his thumb on the inner part of my bottom lip, getting his thumb damp, and then rubbing the spot of dried blood off of me.

His finger tasted like blackberries.

I turned back towards the trailer and we continued walking before I made a fool of myself, "Well, since I had the spare time, I decided to practice my abilities, got carried away and passed out, but mas-"

"Hold on." Five stopped. "You passed out?"

"But mastered them, is what I was going to say." I continued as I kept walking.
