Okay.....for the previous rant, I may have made it a little personal. I'll try not to as much as I can for future ones.
With that out of the way, we now move on to the main problem with Wattpad: The Wattpad populars. As @8tracks previously mentioned, there are some good people who handle the fame well and there are some that definitely don't. Like the good people who handle the popularity well will at least try to communicate with their readers and are nice and kind, even if some of their readers aren't. The ones who don't....well, they have a book that gets a lot of attention and then the author becomes a total jerk and she/he act like snobs.
It's crazy to be honest. And to be even more harsh, those popular stories always have grammatical mistakes and spelling errors. In addition to that, the author deletes "rude" comments because apparently, he/she can't even take the slightest bit of criticism. Come on guys, there's a difference between a critique and a hate comment.
STORYTIME: Once upon a time, I started writing Mysterious Fates. The one that you see on my profile is actually a rewrite. Anyway, on the original, I got a very harsh review, saying that it in no way followed the Harry Potter plot and it as I read through it again and again, I started to realize that the reviewer has a point. Let me tell you one thing: that one review is the main reason why my writing and the overall plot with that fanfic has improved immensely. I honestly forgot who the reviewer was but you have my sincerest thanks if you're reading this.
MY POINT: People read your stories because they want to. They read them because you may have recommended it to them. Those readers of yours take the time out of their lives and read your stories and comment on them because they want you to get better and encourage you as a writer on Wattpad or any writing website in general. If you can't take even the slightest bit of advice or criticism, then you aren't going to get better. I'll be straight out harsh right now when I say that you will not get better in life if you cannot handle the slightest bit of criticism. THAT'S HOW WE FREAKING IMPROVE, PEOPLE! GET USED TO IT. You shouldn't ask for help at all or you can become a five year old because you sure as hell are acting like one.
As I said at the beginning, there's a difference between a critique and a hate comment.
A hate comment is something like this:
"This story is an utter waste of my time."
A critique will be something like this:
"I may not know much about this particular story but nevertheless, I love the way you describe the atmosphere......you do have a few grammar and spelling mistakes, but nothing that can't be fixed...."
See the bloody difference?
__________
Now, there is more to this than meets the eye but I'm sort of in a hurry right now. I'll leave the rest to discussion. What do you think? Comment below and let me know :D

RandomSo I have been on Wattpad for a few years now. I'm on it almost everyday, it's like a drug to me. However, ever since I joined, I have seen the ups and downs of the fanfics and their specific fandoms/series, and Wattpad in general. So what did I do...
