So I have been on Wattpad for a few years now. I'm on it almost everyday, it's like a drug to me. However, ever since I joined, I have seen the ups and downs of the fanfics and their specific fandoms/series, and Wattpad in general.
So what did I do...
You know, I just noticed that majority of my series rants often concern a third season. Technically, with "Riders of Berk" and "Defenders of Berk" existing, you could make the argument that season 3 of Race to the Edge is actually the 5th season in the overall grand scheme of things but eh, it was just something I have noticed.
**Also, MAJOR SPOILERS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.**
With that said? Never thought I'd see Hiccup and Dagur on the same side.
And it's not even like in the second season (Defenders of Berk) where Dagur was hunting down Toothless and Hiccup was forced to go along with it and eventually gave up when Toothless was going to be killed. No hands down, Dagur has legit changed for the better after being shipwrecked. Some people saw this coming and to be honest, considering that you see that he legitimately does care for Heather, I probably should have seen it coming as well.
Also, him getting motion sickness by riding Toothless was just hilarious, especially when you consider that during Defenders of Berk, he previously tried to capture and control a Skrill.
Although, what I did not expect him to do is get the axe. Yeah, I'm not kidding, he actually gets killed. After the other riders and Heather (who actually joins them) don't believe Dagur about an ambush created by Viggo and his men, he files on a Gronckle that Hiccup helped him train earlier in the episode into the Dragon Hunters' base so that his own sister won't have to fly into a trap.

There's caring about a sibling but then there's loving them unconditionally. His letter to Heather was actually touching and I'll be honest when I say my heart shattered.
A lot of people have criticisms about the relationship development between Hiccup and Astrid in RTTE and in the previous two seasons as well. But here's the thing: it's there, you're just not paying close enough attention. There are moments where Hiccup goes out of his mind if anything happens to Astrid and Astrid is vice versa. We can't expect everything to be blatantly there in front of us. Many people forget what makes a good series: interpretation. With the second movie already have the two in a relationship, we can take many interpretations on how their relationship develops.
For example, remember the episode when Astrid got this deadly disease and the only cure was from a dragon that was incredibly rare, hunted to near extinction, and won't leave it's homeland? Hiccup was immediately on the move to find the dragon. When Viggo captured the dragon and forced Hiccup to make a choice, what did Hiccup do? He pleaded to let him get the cure from the dragon before he could take it away.
There is relationship development in the series and the writers are putting more time and effort to put in every single easter egg that would eventually lead into the second movie. Remember that the TV series is not as deep as the movies. It may be a little darker than most kids shows though but honestly, considering what the movies are like, I'm glad that they kept the tone of the franchise.
Unlike the TV spinoff for Kung Fu Panda.......I still get angry over that show. IT HAD THE POTENTIAL TO ACTUALLY EXPAND ON ITS UNIVERSE BUT WHAT WE GOT WAS SOMETHING THAT WAS SO DUMBED DOWN FOR KIDS AND PO WAS REDUCED TO WHAT HE WAS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE FIRST MOVIE AND I JUST-
*sighs* Hear me loud and clear when I say: I'm glad as hell that everything related to the Dragons franchise aired on Cartoon Network rather than Nickelodeon.
(Okay, I'm calm now. I hope.)
The season finale kind of pissed me off. But I'm not talking about the plot of the episode. The episode itself had a good plot.
BUT WHY DO YOU ONLY HAVE PART 1 OF A FUCKING TWO PARTER AS A SEASON FINALE?!
