Danagnronpa V3: Killing Harmony

(Okay sue me I just wanted a gif of Kirigiri.) I know I keep saying that I'll end the book at the end of the year.

*sighs* You know what, I'll probably end it when the time comes cause if I have a deadline, I will most likely not stick to it because laziness and nostalgia. :/

ANYWAY ONTO THE RANT

Well.....if anyone had the question of how meta the DR franchise can get.....V3 is pretty much our mind fuck of an answer.

I mean......WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL WAS THAT LAST TRIAL

Anyway, SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS. You have been warned.

Soooooo Korekiyo Shinguji is creepy as hell but one of my best friends love him lmao. The only thing is that I wish he wasn't the character that turned out to be creepy from the start tho. People hate him because of the fact that he had an incestuous relationship with his sister and "killed" many girls in the past (I put killed in quotation marks cause in-game Team fucking Danganronpa just had to make that part of his bloody character) but honestly I don't hate him as much as the rest of the fandom does. During the first chapter, I loved him solely because of his scathing comments to Iruma and Tenko. He...slowly started to climb down that scale as the game went on tbh.

I'm kind of neutral on Kokichi Ouma. For one, this guy is one clever bastard, almost on the level of Nagito. (But I wouldn't say that they were the same.) He's a pretty complex character simply because we don't know whether he lied till the end or actually told the truth for once. But on the other hand, he practically got on everyone's nerves by lying constantly to the point of Kaito punching him multiple times. But yeah, I like him, he's kind of one of my top favorites, although kind of low even on that. 

Also Angie Yonaga: I mean, she's a bitch and she's my least favorite character. I think its safe to say that I don't really despise a character in V3, per say, but yeah, Angie falls pretty low on my favs list. And by that I mean she's at the bottom. When she died, it was more of relief than anything about the fact that her influence will die down. And I think almost everyone I know has said this but Angie does not deserve the hate that she's getting. When I first started playing this game, with the amount of hate that I saw, I thought she would kill someone everyone liked and/or do something very fucked up. Well, she did create that bloody school council/cult and nearly brainwashed Himiko, Kiibo and Gonta. But she hadn't done anything that was as bad as Kiyo and...how should I put this....her character arc ended way too quickly. We haven't seen the full extent of what she could've done. Would she have killed someone in order the keep that "peace" in the school, or would she have realized her mistakes and tried to atone for them? I guess the point I'm trying to make is that there was literally no buildup to her character that made her redeemable and/or make me feel sorry that she died.

But my favs are Rantaro Amami, Maki Harukawa, Kaede Akamatsu, Kaito Momota, Shuichi Saihara, Gonta Gokuhara, Kokichi Ouma, Tsumugi Shirogane (yes I know she's the mastermind, idgaf) and Himiko Yumeno (in the later chapters). In that order ahahahah

Tenko Chabashira was eh for me, so I guess she's a secondary favorite, but she did grow on me.....right before she got fucking killed THIS GAME I SWEAR ITS ALWAYS RIGHT BEFORE THEY ARE MURDERED-

Miu Iruma, Kirumi Tojo, Ryoma Hoshi and Kiibo also secondary favorites I guess. Iruma's personality is almost reminiscent of Hifumi's from DR1 and Kiibo was just adorable (and badass tbh, like have you seen chapter 6). Also I want Kirumi to be my mom, end of story. I was sad that she died (AND RIGHT WHEN i WAS WARMING UP TO HER).

(Completely unrelated but Gonta is such a sweetheart oh my god. Not gonna lie, I felt emotionally drained by the time I started the next chapter.)

Also the executions were really creative. If I were to pick the Class trial that affected me the most emotionally, it would be the first, fourth and fifth trials. The sixth trial is up there in terms of affecting me emotionally since Amami and Kaede were my favorite characters and the both of them were killed unjustly but the third trial.....I feel like poor Kiyo got what he deserved (IM SORRY SOSO) and Himiko finally started to get the character development she needed so at least something good came out of that chapter.

About that last trial......um.....I didn't find it offensive?? Yeah I know, shocking. I mean, what part of "fiction can change the world" is offensive tbh? We all kind of know this deep down, so why are we shocked? The characters were fighting against the audience in the game who wanted the killing game. IMO, we're all blowing things way out of proportion because I think Kodaka making a game only to give a huge middle finger to the fans was literally the last thing on his mind. At the same time though, keep in mind that a creator can poke fun/or mock his fans in lighthearted fun. The climax to the game was not insulting, it was mocking the in-game audience who took entertainment from the grief and sadness of the characters we followed throughout the game.

Although, I wish Amami survived past the first chapter. It would've been fun to see his cool, collected and calm composure facing the class trials.

The Monokubs are.....interesting, to say the least. Monodam and Monophanie are my personal favs but I think practically everyone I know hates Monokid (including me). Monosuke and Monotaro are eh for me.
