So....this anime was in my Netflix Queue for a while and when I first noticed it, I only watched the beginning of the first episode. I'll try to keep spoilers to a minimum but I really can't talk about this series without it. But if I'm being honest, you can go ahead and read it if you don't care. Trust me, it won't lower your enjoyment of the series if you decide to read this rant. By the way, this rant will talk about the manga as well as the anime. (Season two is called Kingdom of Magic, but Labyrinth of Magic is the title for both the first season as well as the manga. People tend to just call the series Magi as a whole but eh, this is going to be informative for newcomers.)  By the way, for the people who have caught up on the manga and/or are reading this when the series has ended, this rant is before chapter 318. I'll create a separate rant when the series has wrapped up and talk about what has changed about my perspective on the characters, story and the overall fandom.

And...yeah, by the time you get to the end of this, you'll realize why I decided to make this into a two parter.

At the beginning of July, having nothing to do, I went on a 4 day binge watch of both Labyrinth of Magic and Kingdom of Magic. And then during the 4th of July weekend, I caught up on the manga as well.

As you can see, I clearly had a lot of time on my hands.

But holy shit, I'm in absolute love with this series. Rating: 10/10, no questions asked. And for those of you who are saying the anime is shit compared to the manga....all I can say is that the anime is a ADAPTATION of the manga. Meaning, they are going to have to make some changes here and there. Granted, they did try to shove about 8 arcs into two seasons (25 episodes per season btw), but for the love of God, at least the anime was thought out in terms of character development and pacing of the plot. In my opinion, at least it wasn't as half assed as the first two seasons of Sailor Moon Crystal, AND THAT ANIME ONLY HAD TWO ARCS TO ADAPT FROM THE ORIGINAL MANGA BEFORE S3 (INFINITY ARC).

TWO.

FUCKING.

ARCS.

*ahem* I'm gonna move on before this turns into another "First two seasons of Sailor Moon Crystal sucked ass" rage-

The series really does delve into some deep issues, even serving as form of social commentary about how others act towards each other, how we all deal with hatred, race, ect.

Okay, let's talk about the characters, because they are what really makes this series work as well as it does. Morgiana's going first.

 Morgiana's going first
