So I have been on Wattpad for a few years now. I'm on it almost everyday, it's like a drug to me. However, ever since I joined, I have seen the ups and downs of the fanfics and their specific fandoms/series, and Wattpad in general.
So what did I do...
ALSO SPOILERS SPOILERS MAJOR SPOILERS TO PRETTY MUCH THE ENTIRE THE GAME AS WELL AS RAY'S ROUTE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. (Well, if you're caught up but haven't played Ray's route, i'll add a special marker so you know when to stop.)
This route.
OH GOD THIS ROUTE
In a span of eleven days, tHIS HAS ACTUALLY BECOME ONE OF MY FAVORITE ROUTES OF THE ENTIRE GAME.
(Yeah, be prepared, I have a lot of feelings for this route.)
When you kinda think about it, the routes have progressively gotten more emotional and dramatic. Jaehee's route was sweet and adorable, I could not stop awwwing throughout her route. Zen's route was charming, filled with cheesy lines but kind of cute. Yoosung's route was kind of the cutie route, but out of all of Casual Story routes, his' was the most involved with the Mint Eye subplot. Safe to say, these three routes are "Casual" for a reason and compared to the other routes, are rathertame.
The Deep Story routes is where it started to fuck us over with our emotions in a major way. With Jumin's route, there was his infamous 2nd bad end plus Yoosung and Seven confronting Unknown aka Saeran in the worst way possible. 707's route was just an emotional mind fuck, especially when you consider that the SE are the ones that continue Seven's route and give the entire story a solid conclusion. Of course, there are also the major revelations that Rika is fucking alive and was the one who brainwashed Saeran, V gets fucking shot and dies from fatal wounds, how Rika and V met, ect.
Another Story......AHAHAHAHAHA WELCOME TO HELL

And trust me, the sentiments are not wrong. V's route is said to be one of the more depressing routes, not just because of the constant angst while trying to save V, but also the fact that Rika is much more fleshed out as a character, V is pretty much incapacitated during the majority of the route no thanks to Ray overdosing V with the elixir (im sorry, i love you but DUDE NO) and then RIKA FUCKING STABBING HIM. The icing of the cake is Saeran committing suicide by blowing up Mint Eye HQ along with himself but not before calling you and confessing that you were his first and last love. The only relief you actually get during this route is by participating in a hilarious chat room with Vanderwood, who stole Seven's phone and was fiddling with the messenger app.
So yeah. You can clearly see why people (including me once I actually went over it) thought that V's normal and good endings were kind of a hollow victory. It came at the expense of Saeran's life.
And then comes Ray's route, the one we've been asking for since the game came out, only five months apart from the release of V's route.
