53. Reminiscents

Jays pov

The next morning. I wake up early. 5:00 on dot. I walked to my bedroom where raven was resting. She was still unconscious. "Hopefully she's okay" I say to myself. And walk out the door. I sent a message to gogo:
"Yes I'm alive. Meet me at lucky cat cafe in 10 mins"
I sent the message. She saw it and didn't reply. I continued on walking to the cafe. And I started to think to myself.

"I'm a fool. I loose my whole memory. And then I get chucked into some fight again once I regain myself. I should've stayed out of SFIT. I Should've just stayed home. The constant battles are wearing me now. And my emotions and mentality can't take any more of this. How much more before this ends?"

The thought train continued for awhile till I routed my walk to the cafe. I look up and examine. Not much has changed since the couple months I've been gone. Gogo walks up besides me. "It's been awhile" I say. Looking up. "Yeah. Not surprised that your alive either" she said. I laughed. "Still got the edge as I remember" I replied. I looked at her and she gave me a smirk. "Listen jay. I think we should just be friends. I don't know how much I can handle you dying. Leaving. And this battle bull crap. I don't even know if I want to be part of the heroes anymore." she said looking down. "Beat me to it I guess" I replied back. Leaning against the building. "What do you mean" she asks. "Long story short. I got my revival card again. And landed through a roof of a building in a different world. Fun fact that hurted. And this girl, raven. She's been there since my memory destroyance. And I ended up starting to fall. I guess shit happens sometimes." I said. "I understand. Me and hiro kicked it off last month and it seems to be going well." Gogo said smiling. "That a good thing" I said. Smiling. "Dudes a good guy. Despite the issues me and him had. Tell him I said hey when you see him next." I said. Starting to turn the other direction of the sunrise. "I'll see you again? Maybe?" gogo asked. "Yeah you'll see me around. Just a little spotty. Trying to heal raven. Deal with rakan and his little twin in ravens dimension. So I'll be busy. I might need y'all's help later" I said. Starting to walk away. "Take care Leiko". I shouted. I started walking back home. I examined the building around me. "Nothings changed around here which is a good thing" I said to myself. "And it's been a long time that I've actually went out without Sam. I miss my old life sometimes" I continue. After awhile I reach my apartment. And my cats are harassing me. "Seems like y'all missed me." I said. Petting them as I walked in. I walked into my room again where raven was there. "Jay. She's still out." Amber explained. "I Want to try something" i said. I lit a little fireball in my hand. And rested my hand down on her arm. The fireball disappears into her veins. Following all the way up to her internal damage. As I watched. She started glowing and floating. She started sparkling like I got paid a visit by tinker bell. As I watched her get healed. A flame of a mocking jay poofed in front of her and she slowly floated down. "My name has a meaning after all" I said. A mocking jay made of fire. It looked like the symbol from the hunger games. "The more you do. The more you learn" I said. Raven cracks an eye. "Jay?" She mumbles. I couldn't help but smile. And grab her in to a hug. "You're alive" I said.

Ravens pov.

I woke up. And all Of a sudden I'm grabbed into a hug. I was to stunned to even do anything. He let go. "Sorry raven" jay said. "How did you bring me back and where am I" I asked curiously. Slade put some spell on me that wouldn't have allowed me to wake up anytime soon. The spell came from my dad. Trigon. Jay was able to break through it. But how. "Sam. Data log. Pull recording from 6:30" jay said. Sam played log video. Jay inserted a fireball in me. And it led to a healing spell and a bright orange fire mocking jay shooting out of me. "H-how did you do that" I asked shocked. "See that ring you're wearing. It to hide your gem as were in a different dimension. The dimension I'm from. I convinced the team to let you stay here so you could heal. That ring knocks my power down to 5 percent. Without it my powers aren't limited. "He says. My jaw drops in awh. "I had this gut feeling to try heal you. And I did. And it worked well. Apparently our linkage has brought us closer then I expected." Jay says looking away. "Anywho wanna get some food" jay said changing the subject. "Sure" I said.
"Let's get walking" Jay said. I cocked an eyebrow at me. "Walk?" I asked. Jay scratches his head. And let out nervous laugh. "You see.... While saving you I may or may have not blew a transmission in Sam." Jay said. "Of course jay. I wouldn't expect nothing less of you" I said letting out a half smile. He's much of a goof but he's tolerable to deal with. "How long is the walk" I ask. I normally float around. But with this ring. It's dimmed down my powers. So I don't feel weighed down as much. I feel great now with this on. But sooner or later it will have to come off for a serious event. "Around 10 minutes" jay says putting on a bright blue polar fleece. He throws me a hoodie. "It's the best I got. But it'll keep you warm. It's a little brisk out there" jay said. I could start to feel my face starting to get warm. "Am I... blushing?!" I scream to myself. "Yes. You look like a tomato" jay said in my head. I looked at him. "Haha, very funny jay. Very. Funny" I said sarcastically "you said it not me" jay said walking out the door chuckling.

10 minutes later

"The Lucky Cat Cafe? Do they eat cats here" I asked. "Haha, nah aunt cass runs this place. She makes some bomb food" jay said laughing. We walked in followed by a door chime. An older woman came flying through the kitchen as if she saw an old friend. She ran to jay clamping him into a hug. "My god jay you're still alive" the lady said. "Hey aunt cass, don't thank me for being alive. Thank raven" he say as he struggles to point at me. Aunt cass therefor ran for me. And gave me a bear hug "you dirt bag. You know I don't like hugs." I said mentally. "Yet you let me hug you" jay said back in my head with a smirk. "If you love hugs you should meet baymax" jay said out loud. I glared at jay. He chuckled "fine I'll stop".

Jays pov

After my long lived teasing of raven. We sat down. I came across hiro. I shot a glance at him. Watching him hesitate. He finally walked over and apologized for everything. I didn't want to accept his apology. But in reality. You can't hold resentment forever. "Come on pal" I said spreading my arms. Hiro walked in them and he accepted the hug. He meant it this time. After he let go his eyes were puffy. "You good man" I ask. "Yeah, I just messed up a whole life of yours jay. And I'm considerably sorry" hiro whimpered. I chuckled and put my hand in his shoulder. "Hiro, my whole future of life was crushed once I started battling." I said. I flicked my arm open. And a flame popped out. "These powers would be useless if I wasn't your average jay. Besides that. You're mistakes made me stronger. I used to be a huge pushover. Without you pushing me. I don't think I would've made it far. I appreciate you as a person" I continued. The flame in my hand died down. Leaving a little molded mockingjay in the my palm. "Take this. A souvenir. we both lost people who are special. Tadashi for you. And my family for me. We're on the same boat. Never forget. We're fairly similar. We can't control our emotions." I said. Hiro picked up the copper mocking jay out of my hand. And looked at me in awh. "I appreciate it jay," Hiro said. "Not a problem. Need anything give me a shout. Now have fun with gogo" I said waving at gogo. And walked away to raven "I'm going for a little walk. Enjoy the food aunt cass gives you." I said smiling at raven. And continued to walk out the door. "Are you okay?" A voice rang in my head. I turned around and smirked at raven. "Yeah I just need time to think. I need to regain myself before our next battle. " I said to her. "Be safe" she replied back. I walked to my apartment to just look over some stuff. And then starfire appeared out of nowhere. "Hiiiii jay" she screamed. "Jesus fucking Christ. Where the hell did you come from" i screeched in terror. "I want to see raven" she giggled. I gave her the directions to the lucky cat cafe. And reminded her No floating. She got the memo and pranced off. "She reminds me of lemon, all happy and optimistic of everything. Until rakan took over" I said to myself. Looking around, I go to my shelf and see that my spare Sam is missing. Seems like Jason got to it while trying to get to me. Lucky enough. It wasn't complete so rakan can't get my tech. I sat down. And just examined my apartment. Thinking. Realizing that I need to start living by the day. The more you keep going the more you loose a grip on life.
