Chapter 13

The next day after Ryder met Phantom, they started working as a pair right away, though they had their own ways of thinking and doing things. That resulted in them arguing during planning. "I don't know why we're here planning out things. It's simple" Phantom began, as they were sitting in the mission room on the beanbags.
"All I have to do is become invisible. You be the bait and distract the aliens and Dylon. I then free the pups".
"Phantom, it's not that simple!" Ryder raised his tone. He was now getting frustrated with the alien's stubborn and rushy attitude.
"We don't know where the pups are. We don't know on which planet have they been take to. I don't doubt that Dylon has probably locked them up in cages with many locks and has aliens guarding them. We need a more wiser and not so rushy plan" Ryder explained.

"So what's this wise plan of yours?" Phantom asked. "Here's my plan" Ryder started.

Meanwhile, at Town Hall, Mayor Goodway was watering her tulips while Chickaletta was pecking at the ground.
"What a peaceful day, isn't my sweet little chickles?" Mayor Goodway said. The chicken just clucked. Suddenly a shadow ran past and snatched Chickaletta, then disappeared.
"Chickaletta!" Mayor Goodway screamed. She pulled out her phone and called Ryder.

Ryder had been explaining his plan when his pup-pad started ringing. Ryder took it out of his pocket and saw that Mayor Goodway was calling. "Hey Mayor Goodway, what's up?" Ryder asked. "Ryder, a shadow just snatched Chickaletta and then disappeared with my poor purse-pet" the mayor explained.
"I already know who's taken your chicken" Ryder said. "Who?" Mayor Goodway asked. "Aliens are now on planet earth. The free rocket-ship that you gave Dylon has been launched into space and now he's somewhere in space with an army of aliens. I don't know for sure but that's my theory" Ryder explained.

"Aliens! Aliens! Ahhhhh!" the mayor started freaking out. "Can you please save my chicken?" Mayor Goodway asked. "I'll try. I don't know what I could possibly do" Ryder said. "Please hurry" Mayor Goodway said.
Just as Ryder was about to run to his pole, his pup-pad started ringing again.
"Oh my, Katie again. She's so annoying" Ryder said, as he answered her call.
"Hey Katie" Ryder said. "Ryder, something just took Cali and then disappeared" Katie explained, her face expression conquered with fear. Ryder explained the same thing he explained to Mayor Goodway.
"Oh my goodness! Aliens!" Katie yelled. "I don't know how I'm gonna save Cali and Chickaletta" Ryder said. "Please try. Your the PAW Patrol leader, you can do anything" Katie said. "Yeah I know, I could only do anything when I have my pups" Ryder said.

Suddenly he got another call, from Farmer Al. "Farmer Al is calling" Ryder hung up on Katie. "Hi Farmer Al" Ryder greeted.
"Howdy Ryder, my farm animals have mysteriously disappeared" Farmer Al explained. "Everyones animals are disappearing. I'll see if I can do something, without my pups, I'm basically nothing" Ryder said.

Ryder hung up on Farmer Al and then looked at Phantom. "You might not have your pups, but you have me. I can help with these rescues" Phantom said. "Phantom, what are we gonna do? What can we do? The aliens are long gone, we don't know where they are in space. Space is wide, there are many planets scattered" Ryder said, his voice full of doubt, sadness, and stress. "Well, we can't just sit around and stay sad. We have to start acting. The longer we take, the stronger Dylon gets and the more dangerous the situation will become" Phantom explained.
"I don't know what to do. I need my pups" Ryder then slid down his pole and left the Lookout.
"You need your pups, but your not thinking of a plan to rescue them!" Phantom hollered from the mission room. Ryder sat on the bench in the backyard, his brown eyes were brimming with tears. More and more calls started coming in but he ignored all of them.
"I can't rescue without my pups. Without them, I'm nothing" he cried, as tears rolled from his eyes.

In the mission room, Phantom got up. "I have to go speak to Ryder" he said, "the same way he lifted my spirits yesterday and made me look at life in a different light, is the same thing I gonna do". He took the elevator down and found Ryder in the backyard.
"Ryder, you keep saying that you need your pups, but your not thinking of a plan to rescue them" Phantom said as he sat on the bench.

"You can't let this stress get the best of you. It's time for you to be the Ryder you once was. Last night after the movie, you told me so many stories about you and your pups. I greatly admire the way you handle situations, even the most tough ones.
So be the real Ryder you are, stay calm in this situation and think straight like you always did. I have many powers, like the invisibility power and many more I haven't told you about. But you have one power that is greater than my powers, and that is being able to remain calm and think quickly in any situation.
That is the greatest power. So put it into use and stop being the one who panics and isn't able to think in situations. Stop doubting things and think positive. Be the real you" Phantom explained.

Before Ryder could say something, the atmosphere suddenly started changing. From a clear blue sky, thunder started clapping and the sky started glowing green.
The earth started to shake slightly and rumble lowly. "What's going on?" Phantom started to panic. Ryder took in a deep breath, reversing all of the words that Phantom just told him.
"But you have one power that is greater than my powers, and that is being able to remain calm and think quickly in any situation.
That is the greatest power" Ryder heard Phantom's words echo around him.

Ryder took out his pup-pad from his pocket. "Robo-dog, bring the Air Patroller" Ryder commanded, his real self starting to come out. "Now your talking" Phantom said.
The robotic pup brought in the Air Patroller. The flying vehicle landed and the ramp-like door came down. "Come on, let's get in" Ryder said. "Where are we going?" Phantom asked. "Don't ask, just watch the PAW Patrol leader put his power into action" Ryder said proudly.

Ryder geared up in his air rescue gear. "Cool outfit" Phantom said, as he sat on a seat in the Air Patroller. Before they could take to the sky, aliens started falling from the sky.
"Robo-dog, take to the air" Ryder commanded, sitting on the chair next to Robo-dog. Hundreds of aliens started raining from the sky, throwing an attack onto Adventure Bay. "It's time to get everyone into the Air Patroller and fly off to safety! Robo-dog, speed up the Air Patroller" Ryder ordered.
"Ruff ruff!" Robo-dog barked.

Down in the town, aliens started attacking the citizens of Adventure Bay. "Ryder was right! Aliens are on planet earth!" Mayor Goodway screamed as she was running.
An alien was running down the street, crushing down houses. He roared out loud, his monstrous roar echoed across the green sky. His arm extended, grabbed a man who was fleeing for his life.
"HELP!" the man screamed in extreme terror. The alien bit into his body with his long uneven teeth. Blood dripped from the alien's mouth and onto the cement surface below.
He dropped the man's body and ran off to kill more people.

"Ryder, I'm gonna form an invisible barrier around the Lookout so no aliens get through and break it" Phantom said.
"How do you have an invisible barrier?" Ryder asked in confusion. "It's another of my powers" Phantom said. "Alright, just be careful out there" Ryder said.
The door came down and Phantom leaped out of the Air Patroller. Ryder shifted his focus on saving as many people as he could and taking them out of Adventure Bay.

Things are getting chaotic! 👽😈
