A few months had past since Ryder's parents moved into Adventure Bay. Jessie had gave birth to their new baby, a baby girl named Amy. She had blonde hair and green eyes like her mother.
During the past month, winter had faded from Adventure Bay.
Ryder and his pups were playing volleyball on the beach. Today was a warm yet cool day, which was perfect for volleyball.
"I'm gonna get! I'm gonna get it!" Marshall barked, as he watched the ball fly over the net.

He suddenly skidded to a halt when Zuma got in his way. "Sowwy dude! I got it!" Zuma said, then he hit the ball with his head.
Marshall groaned irritably, but continued playing. The ball flew over the net, to where Ryder, Chase and Rubble were waiting.
"I'm gonna get the ball!" Rubble said, running after the flying ball.
"I don't think so" Ryder laughed lightly, as he ran past Rubble.
"Go Ryder! Get the ball!" Chase cheered. Just as Ryder was about to hit the ball, something caused him to halt.

His pup-pad started ringing. "Great, right in the middle of a game" Ryder said, as he pulled out his pup-pad. "Jessie? Why's she calling?" Ryder asked, as he answered the call.
The pups gathered around Ryder.

"Hey Jessie, what do you want?" Ryder asked. "Stop calling me by my name" Jessie said, "anyways, your sister was born. I want you to meet her".
"She's not my sister" Ryder declared, "and I'm not coming to see her". "Ryder, you need to get over the past. This is not normal anymore, for you to keep holding onto what happened" Jessie explained.

"You didn't feel the pain I felt, so you won't ever understand it. Maybe if you felt it, then you would understand how I feel.
I was a great son to both of you guys, and you knew that. I was not like other kids who caused trouble, bullied others school or were disrespectful to their parents.
I was the complete opposite, never did I cause trouble, nor bully, nor disrespect you guys. The minute I accidentally did something without meaning it, you guys immediately send me away to the foster home without giving me a chance.
I begged you guys for a chance to apologize and make up for what I did, but you still sent me away. I understand if I was kid who caused trouble every single day, but I wasn't.
Now you tell me, did I deserve to be sent away?" Ryder explained in a very angry tone.

Jessie was speechless, she didn't know to say. "You don't know what to say, because you know what you did was wrong" Ryder said.
"And before you guys left, you said you would replace me with a better child. If only you knew how hard that hit my heart".
Jessie just stood quiet.

"I better go now. Amy is crying" Jessie said. "You know your wrong, that's why your not saying anything" Ryder said, then hung up the call.

"You got her good" Chase said. "Yeah! She didn't even know what to say" Marshall laughed. Ryder petted Marshall on the head. "Are we gonna continue playing?" Zuma asked. "You pups can play on, my mood for volleyball is gone" Ryder said, as he started walking from the shore.
"Bye Ryder!" all of the pups said. "Bye pups!" Ryder waved, then disappeared into town, toward the Lookout.

The pups continued the game without Ryder. Meanwhile, Ryder went to the woods, to go for a walk alone. He grabbed a neat and sturdy stick and began walking on the trail.
As he strolled through the woods, he took in all of the peaceful sights and smells.
Up on the branches of the trees, birds of all colors sang happy melodies.

On the ground that was carpeted by green grass, a variety of flowers popped up from the earth. Their sweet aromas floated in the air, acting like a magnet for bees.
Ryder spotted a deer, with her new fawn, just hours old. He then looked to the left where the river was flowing peacefully.

"This is what I need" Ryder sighed peacefully, as he walked to the river and sat by it.
He watched ducks swim at the surface, teaching their ducklings to fish.
On the right side, he watched a beaver family upgrade their dam, because they had new babies.
