Chapter 20

Up in the night sky, the full moon glowed luminously down on the sleeping city. Scattered around it, stars twinkled against the ebony black sky. Down in the city, on the tenth floor of a skyscraper, Ryder was in his room in Mayor Humdinger's office.
The mayor was sleeping in another room with his kittens. Moonlight flooded through window in Ryder's room. Ryder was looking out of the window. "Wow, this is high" he said.
He walked toward the door and opened it slowly. "I have to see if Mayor Humdinger is sleeping so I can put my plan into action" Ryder said, as he walked out of his room in silence.

He stalked down the hallway, as quiet as a cat stalking up to its prey. Ryder peeked into Mayor Humdinger's room. The mayor was sleeping and snoring loudly, with his kittens sleeping around him and some on his big fat belly.
"Good" Ryder then hurried back to his room. He knew he couldn't escape through the front door because it was locked, and he didn't know where the key was.

Ryder pulled out his pup-pad and called Lily. Lily was sleeping in her hotel room when her phone started ringing. She cracked open her green eyes and reached out her hand for her phone which was on the small table besides her bed.
"Hey Ryder, why are you calling at this time?" Lily asked tiredly. "I have a plan and I'm putting into action right now" Ryder said. Lily's eyes widened and she listened carefully as Ryder started explaining.

"I need you and Katie to wake everyone up in the hotel, but do it quietly. Bring everyone outside of the hotel and wait for the Air Patroller to arrive" Ryder explained.
"Alright" Lily got out of bed. Her hotel room had two bedrooms so she and Katie shared the same hotel room. Lily opened the door to Katie's room.
"Katie, get up! Ryder has a plan and we need to help him with something" Lily said. Katie got up immediately. "What do we do?" Katie asked. "We need to wake everyone up and bring them outside of the hotel to wait for the Air Patroller" Lily explained.

Ryder then called Robo-dog. "Robo-dog, bring the Air Patroller to the skyscraper" Ryder commanded. "Ruff ruff" Robo-dog barked. Fifteen minutes later, the Air Patroller was hovering infront of the window at Ryder's room. The door came down.
Ryder took in a deep breath as he looked down at the city below. "I can do this" Ryder ignored the height. He got onto the edge of the window and prepared to jump to the Air Patroller.

With all his might, Ryder performed one mighty leap and got onto the Air Patroller. The door closed and Ryder ran to his seat besides Robo-dog. "Good job, Robo-dog" Ryder praised the robotic pup and then patted him on the head.
"Put us in stealth mode so no one sees the Air Patroller" Ryder commanded.
"Arf arf!" Robo-dog barked. The Air Patroller was put into stealth mode and off it flew to the hotel. The Air Patroller landed in the back of the hotel and the door came down.

Everyone got in and so the door went up. "Ryder, what's your plan?" Lily asked. "Mayor Humdinger told me that my pups are on the planet Pluto. So we're gonna take these people to a secluded island on the ocean since it seems that Dylon is sending his aliens to destroy all cities and towns" Ryder explained.

"To an island. How are we gonna survive?" Mayor Goodway asked. "That's for you guys to figure out. I have enough challenges in this mission that I must get through.
You guys will stick together as a team and survive on the island. Cities and towns are no longer safe. I'm not gonna risk bringing you guys to another city and then it's attacked by aliens. I'll have to go back to earth again and save you guys.
I need to get my pups but I can't do that if I have to keep coming back to earth to save you guys. Stick together as a team and figure out how to survive" Ryder sternly explained.

On planet Pluto, Dylon was very upset with his aliens for losing the fight when they attacked Foggy Bottom. "You aliens are gonna go back and attack Foggy Bottom again!" Dylon yelled at the aliens.
"Go now!". Half of the army left the headquarters and headed back to Foggy Bottom. "RazorFang and you aliens must work on capturing Ryder, Lily and Phantom! If they are not here by tomorrow night, you aliens are gonna know who I am" Dylon explained in a rough tone.
