Dawn Of The Heroes 2; When 2 Universes Collide

Chapter 9

During a late evening in Adventure Bay, the pups were having a race in the backyard. Meanwhile, Ryder met up with Daring Danny X. "You got your skateboard?" Danny asked. "Yup" Ryder answered, as he put on his helmet, the one he wears when driving his ATV.
Danny put on his helmet and got on his skateboard.
"Let's have a competition to test our stamina level. We have to skateboard round Adventure Bay" Ryder suggested. "That sounds like a challenging competition but the more challenging, the more fun" Danny said.

"Whoever can make it till here, wins. But whoever can't make till here, loses" Ryder explained.
Ryder and Danny got in position. "You ready to skateboard against the most extreme skateboarder?" Danny shot Ryder a challenging look. "I don't think your the most extreme skateboarder. I've perform one hundred rescues a day, which means my body is moving for ninety percent of the day, and that results in me having a high energy and stamina level" Ryder said.
"Oh yeah! Show off!" Danny playfully said.

"Come on, let's do this" Ryder said. The two of them took off down the road. Danny took the lead and skateboarded way ahead of Ryder. Ryder skateboarded at a steady speed, for he had a plan.
"Ryder dude! Your so slow!" Danny yelled as he made a left turn on the road. "Yeah I know, I am!" Ryder shouted back.

In the backyard behind the Lookout, the pups had finished racing. Rubble turned out to be the winner. "So? What should we do next?" Zuma asked, as they were all lapping up water from their pup-bowls.
"Let's eat, because I'm starving" Rubble rubbed his stomach. "How about we get meatballs from Mr. Porter?" Marshall suggested. "That sounds delicious but who's gonna go. I don't want to go" Rubble said.

"Marshall, since it's your idea, your gonna go" Chase said. "You actually want me to go. What if I trip and drop all of the meatballs on the road. Then a car drives over them and smashes them" Marshall was just making up an excuse, so he won't have to go.
"That would be a disaster" Rubble said. "Alright, then how about you Rocky?" Chase looked at the grey pup.
"Me?! My legs are too tired to go" Rocky said, falling flat to the grass. "Fine, Zuma then?" Chase pointed. "Nah!" Zuma said.
"If no one wants to go, I'll just go. I can fly there on my wings" Skye said, "it'll be faster".
Skye ran over to her pup-house and geared up in her rescue uniform. She then activated her wings and took off.

Skye landed infront of Mr. Porter's. "Hello Skye, can I help you?" Mr. Porter asked. "Can I please have twelve meatballs?" Skye asked. "Sure, you came at the right time because I have them already made" Mr. Porter said.
He gave Skye a bag of twelve meatballs. "Thank you Mr. Porter!" Skye thanked, as she bit the bag and then took off.
Mr. Porter waved to Skye, until she disappeared toward the Lookout.

"I'm so hungry" Rubble's stomach was growling with hunger. "Here she comes!" Rocky exclaimed. All of the pups stood up, their tails wagging furiously.
Skye landed and let go of the bag. "Twelve meatballs. Two for each pup" she said. The pups each got two meatballs in their bowls.

By the time the sun had started setting, Ryder and Danny had almost completed a full round around Adventure Bay.
Danny, who had been putting all his effort and energy, was tiring quickly, whilst Ryder who was skateboarding at a steady speed was not tiring as quickly. "I just wanna give up right now" Danny panted. "I told you my stamina level was higher than your's" Ryder laughed.
"I can't let you win! It's Daring Danny X, which means I'm going to push myself to the extreme level of tiredness" Danny started skateboarding faster.

When they reached the beach, Danny collapsed on the sand. "You lose!" Ryder said, as he skateboarded ahead. Ryder made it to the spot where they had started the endurance race. "I win!" Ryder cheered.
Danny came walking with his skateboard in his arm, and his body drooping. "Congratulations! Your stamina level is higher than mines" Danny congratulated in a exhausted tone.
He threw himself on the bench at that was on sidewalk.
"I'm gonna go get lemonade from Mr. Porter's" Ryder said. "How do you still have energy to skateboard to the lemonade stand?" Danny asked. "My energy is endless" and with that, Ryder took off to the lemonade stand.

He returned with two cups of cold lemonade. Ryder sat on the bench and removed his helmet. "That skateboarding made me feel good" Ryder said, as he sipped on his lemonade. "It made me feel exhausted" Danny said, "I still can't believe you won. I'm supposed to be Daring Danny X, which means I do extreme things".
"Your name is not what helps you win. It's your endurance. My name is only Ryder, but it didn't help me win. My endurance was what helped me win" Ryder explained.

"Your right" Danny said, "I think a storm is on the way". "Why do you say that?" Ryder asked. "Look over there. Storm clouds" Danny pointed. "I better get back. The pups are probably waiting for me" Ryder said, standing up.
"I better get going also. I don't want to be caught in this storm" said Danny. "It was nice skateboarding with you. The next time, we're gonna skateboard two rounds around Adventure Bay" Ryder said, a light laugh following. "Two rounds?! I'm gonna die by the time I reach half of the second round" Danny laughed. Ryder and Danny laughed, then bid farewell to each other and headed on their way home.

Before Ryder could reach the Lookout, the storm arrived. Heavy rain showered down upon him and the town, merciless winds gusted with full power, lighting zig zagged through the black sky, and thunder clapped loudly.
Ryder started skateboarding faster toward the Lookout.
He took out his pup-pad to call the pups and make sure if they were okay. As he tried to call them, they didn't answer, the screen just went grey. "Pups, do you hear me?" Ryder asked.
Still no response, only a grey screen.
"This isn't good" Ryder finally arrived upon the Lookout.

He took off his helmet and rushed inside. "Pups!" he called. Ryder searched the TV room, his room, the kitchen, and the bathroom. He then took the elevator up to the mission room. But when he got up, he discovered that the pups were neither there.
"Let me try calling them from the big screen" Ryder ran over to the big screen and pressed a button to call the pups.

"Pups, are you guys there? It's Ryder here" Ryder said, nervousness slowly overtaking his body. "Where could they be? They obviously had to see the storm rolling in, so why didn't they get in the Lookout before it hit?" Ryder took the elevator down and left the Lookout.

He went to the backyard in search of his pups. "Pups! Where are you guys?!" Ryder called. "PUPS!". After searching the entire backyard, he went back in the Lookout.
His PAW Patrol uniform was soaked. Ryder started calling everyone he knew, asking them if they had seen the pups. Mr. Porter told Ryder that Skye came to get meatballs but no one else had anything to say about seeing the pups.
"What happened to them?" Ryder's body was starting to tremble with fear. He ran over to the big screen and pressed a button, which opened up a big map of Adventure Bay. The pups' pup-tag icons were suppose to come up to show where they were, but it didn't appear on the map.

"This isn't right. Something has happened" Ryder said, "if my pups aren't answering my calls nor are their pup-tag icons coming up on the map, this means they must be too far to have connection or they don't have their pup-tags".
