"Are you the woman he's currently seeing?"

Thellia turned at the voice.

"Pardon?"

The woman with blonde hair smiled. "You indeed are."

"I'm sorry?" Thellia asked, confused.

"I came here to see my fiancé, only to have discovered that he has a lover."

Thellia frowned. "May I know who you are?"

"Daphnia." The woman smiled. "Lyle's betrothed."

Thellia's hands froze.

"Pardon?"

"Ah, you didn't know he has a fiancé, did you?"

"No..." Thellia felt like a fool in that moment.

"As expected." Said the woman.

"I apologize..." Thellia quickly apologized.

"I never knew he had someone..."

Thellia was greatly at loss.

The woman clasped her hands together and looked at Thellia. "If you don't mind, could I talk to you for a bit?"

"Ah... yes." Though she had a hard time grasping the situation, Thellia agreed.

'I should have expected this as soon as I overheard his conversation...' Thellia bitterly thought.

"May I ask your name?" The woman asked.

"Thellia."

'Is she going to get angry..? I truly understand if she does...'

"Miss Thellia, I am sincerely requesting this of you... would you please distance yourself from him?"

Thellia looked at her in surprise.

'Is she not angry?'

Though Thellia didn't want to admit it, her heart did sunken after the woman's words.

"It's just, we're about to get married and I simply do not wish to be a laughingstock at my own wedding. Surely you understand, don't you?" The woman spoke kindly in a neutral tone.

"Ah..."

"May I ask... when will you marry?"

"The date is still unsettled, but it is expected to be soon."

'What was I expecting to hear?'

"I see..." Thellia unconsciously bit the inside of her cheeks.

'He never told me...'

"Can I ask-" Thellia stopped mid sentence.

"Never mind."

'I must look like a fool right now... how pathetic.'

"Alright, I understand." Said Thellia.

"I'll distance myself away from him." Thellia's head was filled with doubts. Was everything he showed her fake?

The woman instantly smiled. "Thank you for understanding."

"Ah- I'm very sorry... I really- I never knew about it until now." She never wanted to be a third party.

"Did he perhaps not tell you?" From the tone of the woman's voice, Thellia could tell she wasn't upset at all. She was calm, rather.

"He never spoke about it..."

'He made a fool out of me.'

"Ah, I see."
