"Father..."
Thellia stared at the floor as she sat on the cushioned chair, looking at her bedridden father.
"Now that you're back... won't you do me a favor and peacefully marry the man that I have chosen for you, Therellia?"
"Father, is this the right time to be thinking about my marriage? You should be thinking about your recovery." Thellia scowled.
Her father couldn't help but laugh.
"Ah, I couldn't help but worry... Time is passing and I'm getting old. Who will take care of you when I'm gone?"
"Please don't say such things. You know very well that I can take care of myself, father."
"..."
"Dear, taking care of our castle and family affairs is not easy as you think. Especially if you're not the appointed head."
"But-"
"I know very well that you are capable. But in our kingdom, there is no such laws saying that women are eligible to take over as heads. That is why I am pushing you to marry, Therellia. So you can remain your stand in nobility."
"Well I don't want to marry the man that you've chosen."
"Ha..." The man sighed.
"You're stubborn like your mother."
"Father, since your recovery is going quite well, you should forget about marrying me off. You are still alive and hale to rule the county."
"This child... really."
"If you don't like the man that I have chosen, then I shall delay your marriage until I find another candidate for you."
She frowned.
"What if I also don't like the new man you've chosen?"
The father huffed. "Then we'll find another."
Thellia scowled. "You're also stubborn like mother."
"Dear, if I can't make it past this year, please marry a sensible man to take over my seat."
"Really... your thinking is far too advanced, father."
"Anyway, stop thinking about my marriage for a while and just recover." Said Thellia.
"I've given you everything you've wanted ever since you were little, and all I am asking from you is to marry a gentleman that you like." The man faked a sob, trying to get sympathy from his daughter.
"Father, stop acting." Thellia was at the verge of rolling her eyes.
She was used to her father's pranks and tricks.
'What a jester.'
"Hicc... You never listen to this father of yours... this is only one of the times I ask something from you, yet you never...."
Thellia covered her ears, fighting the urge from giving in.
"I am not listening." She said.
A loud dramatic cry wailed from his mouth, piercing Thellia's ear. She winced in surprise and looked at her father.
'No way...'
'Since when did he learn to cry at will!'
"Father, you know... you'll be praised for being a good actor if you consider working on a theater."
"....."
Thellia awkwardly stared at the sobbing man in silence. She thought that his sobs were quite over-exaggerated, truthfully.
