August 11th, 1991. 4:35 P.M.

A minute and a half later, Vanessa was packing away her groceries into the kitchen cabinets and humming a sweet melody to herself.

She stopped as pebbles started to tap on the balcony doors, it took her a second to register what it was. Vanessa knew it must've been Dallas straight away, and hurried out to see him. He hung dangerously out of the bedroom window, clawing at the railings to keep himself up.

Immediately Vanessa started to flip out and yank at his arms. Between the building and house was a small gap that was just big enough for him to fall down and get seriously injured. She didn't understand his recklessness while he didn't understand her worries.

"Come play with me." he bubbled like a small child. Vanessa crossed her arms, allowing Dallas to pull himself back into the window.

"It's a school night." she said defiantly as he moaned in annoyance at her goodie two shoes persona.

"You're so wound up. Come out tonight and loosen up a bit. God knows you need it."

"Not a chance." Vanessa seethed, believing she was fun, but then she remembered all the things that Lindsey ever said to her about it. Maybe she was right, "At second thought. Fine but I want to be home by ten sharp!"

Dallas drummed his hands on the ledge, "That's the spirit, I'll meet you downstairs in an hour!"

August 11th, 1991. 5:23 P.M.

Fifty minutes passed and Dallas stood in the grand lobby of the apartment building. The front desk was emptied with a sign that said the worker was on break. All for the good as Dallas probably would've been asked to leave in a fancy place like this.

No wonder realtors tried to buy up his parents' old house. Their place didn't exactly scream lavish, more like highly affordable and replaceable.
