As the hotel didn't offer any food options, the class was led halfway down the street to a funkier restaurant as the teachers had described it. It was the type of place where food travelled on a conveyor belt around the entire restaurant.
Vanessa thought it was pretty cool upon first impression. She hadn't been to a place such as this before, and was honestly starving from the moment she left the train station.
Lindsey on the other hand remained unimpressed, and distant. Vanessa didn't think much of it, she didn't need her to enjoy herself anymore. They both sat in the same booth, and plucked two plates from the endlessly loop.
Rachael had her eyes on something else, two foreign men who looked to be backpackers. She settled beside them on a leather loveseat, away from the class. She was beautiful so it was easy for her to begin asking them invasive questions, without much concern. Soon enough she found out they were in their late twenties and came from northern Europe, just her type.
Vanessa drew her attention to Lindsey, who was across from her at the table. She wanted her friend back but didn't know how to approach the situation.
"Anything new in your life? Considering we don't talk anymore, I might as well ask you." Vanessa found herself asking, rudely. She regretted it almost instantly as Lindsey's face scrunched up.
"Is that a dig?" she warned Vanessa with a low simmering growl.
"If you want it to be." Vanessa threatened, realising she was being viperous towards her once close friend, "I mean, we don't even speak anymore."
"You're always with Dallas, I can't even have a moment alone with you without you mentioning him. What's your problem anyways!?"
Dallas and Daniel, who were on another table speaking about whatever boys spoke about, both looked over at the argument. It seemed like everyone was staring at them now.
