A silver convertible rolled up behind Daniel's car. Rachael was at the wheel, looking highly fashionable in brand new clothes. It was just then that Vanessa noticed how stylish she was.
As Rachael left the driver's seat, her heels clambered against the road's surface as she walked towards them. In one hand she texted someone, and then stared down at Daniel and Vanessa.
He cast his hand over his eyes to shade them from the sun, Vanessa just squinted and silently applauded Rachael's sense of fashion, something that Vanessa didn't have.
"You're on the ground?" Rachael peered over her designer sunglasses, "Why?"
Daniel dusted himself off, "We got ourselves into a little bit of a pickle and locked ourselves out of the car." he informed her, standing up from the curb.
"How convenient." she scoffed, glaring over at Vanessa like she was an insect, "And with her, nonetheless."
"Will you stop being so mean?" Daniel defended Vanessa, pulling his cousin aside.
As they argued in loud whispers, Vanessa's phone vibrated repeatedly in her pocket. She felt hopelessly stuck until they figured it out, meanwhile Lindsey went forgotten after five desperate missed calls.

Vanessa leaned over the front seat of the convertible, as her hair blew wildly in the wind, "If you go down this road here, then you take a left, you can make it straight to my friend's place."
She pointed to the sign as Rachael sped downtown, past the turn off, "We are taking a little detour."
Vanessa's eyes widened, "Wait, what!?" she shouted, over the harsh winds hitting her face.
Rachael and Daniel laugh together, "A little cruise around. It'll be fun, Vanessa." he assures her in the passenger seat, "Trust me."
