Vanessa was simply captivated with Daniel as he stood tall above her with his hand out, waiting for her to grasp it, "Woah. You took a tumble, didn't you?"
He chuckled, lunging Vanessa up with one powerful yank. She just then realised how strong he was, and it made her weak at the knees.
Vanessa was so lost in him that she didn't notice the girl behind him, rolling her eyes with her tongue in her cheek. She only came into view when the girl started to huff and puff. She seemed so utterly inconvenienced by it all.
Vanessa started to wonder how she could be considered the jealous one, having now seen how rude this girl acted towards her for no reason.
"Careful." Daniel jerked a smile in Vanessa's direction, "You wouldn't want to spill this stuff." he said, leaning down to pick up the useless paint that Vanessa had gotten just encase, "I heard it can be pretty expensive."
Vanessa swooned. He was speaking to her. And she didn't even need Dallas to intervene or give advice. She wanted so badly to thank him but her throat clamped shut.
"Thank..." Vanessa finally managed to say, but it stopped there. The words were caught, and now she sounded like a complete idiot. She prodded at her brain, speak dammit, speak to Daniel, she told herself.
The silence didn't last long as the girl called him back over to her, "Daniel, let's go!" she ordered him. For some reason, Vanessa found herself being glared at, with the furiously furrowed eyebrows of her.
She hadn't so much as said two words to Daniel, yet Vanessa felt a sudden overwhelming envy towards her. She wanted him all for herself, but this girl had something that she didn't have... and that was him.
"In a minute, Rachael." Daniel quipped, before looking back to Vanessa. Her eyes were on the floor, readying to say goodbye to him.
