Stepping into the gym on homecoming night felt like being transported to another universe. Instead of the usual stench of old socks and the noise of squeaking tennis shoes, the place was truly magical in sight.

The walls shimmered with glowing stars and silver streamers dangled from the roof, reflecting every light in the room. There was a band playing on stage and the dancefloor was packed with students, swaying to the beat of the music.

Vanessa's mood was soured when she saw other girls speaking to Daniel, but Lindsey noticed, and assured her that he doesn't care for them, or else he would have asked them to homecoming.

Lindsey knew she couldn't help her stress, so she dragged Vanessa into the centre to dance, to keep her mind off of him. They both felt utterly lost in the crowd of people. Vanessa was so disoriented that she couldn't even tell which way was up, but being there with her best friend made it all worth it.

Dallas and Daniel skimmed the outskirts of the dance, as it wasn't their scene. They oversaw the punch bowl, and then again when someone spiked it. While Rachael had disappeared through the dancefloor.

Daniel grabbed a handful of chips from the communal bowl, "This ain't half bad." he muttered, chomping down with a full mouth.

Dallas ignored him. With all the sparking decorations and low set light, he was feeling a certain type of way. He watched Lindsey from a distance, totally deep set on her. His heart was pounding so harshly, he felt like he would collapse if he didn't go speak to her.

"I'm going to ask her to dance." he fearlessly told Daniel, before throwing back a glass of that spiked punch to calm his nerves. Homecoming was supposed to be his chance, and he knew he couldn't let it pass him by.

"Go get her, man." Daniel hyped Dallas up, patting him on the back.

As Dallas made his way over to her, Vanessa moved out of the way. They both winked at each other as they passed by.
