December 6th, 1991. 5:56 A.M.

There is snow on the roads, Vanessa noted as they stood in line at the ticket booth. The Blueridge train station was almost empty besides one customer in front of them, one painfully slow customer.

Dallas bit his tongue for the sake of Vanessa. He would've shoved this dude out of the way, if he wasn't on his best behaviour for her. He didn't want to ruin his chance before it even begun.

While Dallas waited, Vanessa ambled over to the vending machine for her sugar fix. She managed to load up on soda cans, a bad habit that had led to her thin figure as she more often than not replaced meals with them.

After all that, Dallas finally stepped up to the window, "Uh, one way tickets..." he said to the attendant.

"How many?" she rudely asked, clearly didn't want to be at work, "One, or two!?"

Vanessa moved in front of Dallas, "Just two, please."

The woman ripped two tickets and passed them through the little hole. Dallas snatched them from her grip, and took Vanessa by the hand. They wait on the platform of train three. It was so early that workers were shovelling the snow fall from the previous night.

Vanessa realised she was still holding hands with Dallas, and examined his face from right beside him.

He noticed her staring at him from the corner of his eye and immediately scrunched his face up, "What!" Dallas barked, "Is there something on my face?"

"Are we... you know... boyfriend... girlfriend?" she just blurted out. There was no use in playing games and not communicating, she wanted to know what this was.

Dallas sighed harshly, then looked back to her with one eyebrow pegged upwards, "Yes, Vanessa. We are dating..."

THE END...
