I messaged Dawn my number but he only put me on seen. I actually didn't know that we are friends on Facebook. Bihira lang din kasi akong gumamit ng app na 'to because I find it toxic. The users are pretentious and people can easily be deceived, too!
Nasa Twitter lang ako parati to watch porn and look for trending topics. I sometimes stalked a person's account, pang pawala lang ng boredom.
"How's your sister?" I asked Stan when we meet at school. His head is buried on my neck as his arms are hugging my waist.
We're not seeing each other for two days because he had to stay at the hospital for his sister.
He sighed heavily, "Her condition is getting worse."
Malungkot akong tumingin sa kan'ya. Her sister is diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
"It must be hard for her..." I whispered but he heard it.
"It's indeed hard for her... I want her to heal so she could enjoy her youth."
"Healing is a process, as well as forgetting what happened. We can't just tell a person to move forward. Madali lang kasi 'yon sabihin pero mahirap gawin... It takes a lot of bravery to move forward."
Nakasanayan na ng ilang mga tao na kapag may problema ang isang kaibigan o pamilya nila, they will say "cheer up" or "it's okay" but it's a demotivated advice you could give to a person who experiencing extreme sadness. Encouraging someone to look on the bright side is counterproductive even if you intend to make them better... They might feel worse.
Mas mabuti pang sabihin mo, "Recognize your feeling" and other comforting words that would make them feel that their feelings are valid. Or rather listen to them and give advice if you feel they need to.
"Feeling blue isn't just a phase, it's a cycle," I added.
"I know but as his brother, what I want is to help herself to move on."
Umiling ako, not agreeing with him.
"Do you think he's not helping herself? That's too much, Stan," I sighed in disbelief, "Hindi porket hindi siya okay, hindi na n'ya tinutulungan ang sarili n'ya. Just by surviving, she's already helping herself. She could just give up so her pain will end but she chose to fight, she chose to live, and help herself heal."
Natigilan siya at natulala sa sinabi ko. I held his hand.
"A little advice... Don't tell her what you told me. Masasaktan ang kapatid mo kapag narinig n'ya iyon."
He is her brother. Hearing words like those from the person close to her heart will pain her. She might think that she's a loser for not being able to fight her condition. She will think worse about herself. Words can kill a person's perseverance and determination to be better.
Pumasok na ako sa classroom pagkatapos nang usapan namin ni Stan. Tumili agad si Renato nang makita ako.
"Omg, Ace!"
"What?" kunot-noo kong tanong.
"We are waiting for you kanina pa!"
"Bakit?"
Shai stood up, "There's no class today."
"Dahil lang doon tumili-tili ka na, Renato?"
He pouted upon hearing his real name.
"Of course! We'll go shopping today!" hindi pa ako nakasagot ay hinila n'ya na ako. They didn't even let me sit! Kakarating ko lang ay lalabas ulit ako!
Tinawagan ni Reni si James para ihatid kami sa mall.
Good thing that I brought cash with me. I don't like paying through cards. Ewan ko. Mas feel ko lang kapag through cash ang paraan ko ng pagbabayad.
